Ok folks, so I'm the kind of guy that always likes to think about the good things in life, the times that stick out and just make me smile. After watching a hour of Animal Cops on Animal Planet and being moved to tears a couple times, I want this post to be is just a random collection of times where your BP has made you smile in any way. It could be an interaction between you and the snake, or even getting your loved BP to eat again after a period of refusal. It could also be something funny.

Please feel free to post anything, no matter how long or how short.

are they picky about their mate?
it just so happened roswell made me smile tonight. i came in from work to see his head resting outside the water/bowl hide he was underneath.i go to do some things and my g/f turns on the light. i come back and see he has gone back in. i sat there for a second and waited, but he didnt want to come back out. then my schedualer went off.. time to feed the snake! so i look over to the cage, and roswell is back out, even further this time. when i walk to the cage he lifts his head to see me, and crawled a bit closer to me. i think he knows it is feeding time, and now he is just waiting for me to get him out and feed him. when i came over he was ready to go eat... well now i think the mice are defrosted.. time to feed...

not too long ago i decided i wanted a bp. i did a bunch of research (and found this site in the process) and decided that i was going to get one at a reptile show. i waited for 3 months for the show, and a week before it was to happen my boyfriend told me that he would rather me get a chameleon. so i read up on them some and decided, no, a bp was what i really wanted. and so i tried to convince him that he would like having a snake but that he just didn't realize it because he had never had one. well being the good boyfriend he is he just went along with it since it was what i wanted and we went to the show. i found the snake a wanted and we brought it home. i had him help me transfer her into her new setup, at which time he held her for the first time. as soon as she wrapped her little body around his hand it was love. he went on for days about how cool she was and how he could feel her muscles moving when he held her and so on. so that's how my little nellie made me smile--by winning my boyfriend over to our side. :D

My little Bela (who's in my avatar) is the cutest little thing. I was holding her once while watching TV, and she appeared to be staring right at me. Then all of a sudden she gives this great big yawn, like I was the most boring thing on earth. I think that when they yawn, it's the most adorable Bp thing ever!

When I come into the room sometimes Ozzy will stick his head out of his hide and just kinda look over at me then go back into his hide about his business. Kinda a "Hey hows it going" little head shot :)
Also one day he was on my bed looking around and the Croc Hunter was on and when the snakes came on the TV he stopped and stuck his head up to " watch" and soon as the scene was over put his head down and went back to exploring. That just made me realize just how cool a little dude he was and how much he has gown on me.
He is my #1 dude that is for sure.
You know what they say about your "first" :)

Awesome stories so far everyone. Thanks for sharing and keep on adding more! I don't even have a BP yet, but I'll be getting one soon and hope that it will make me smile as all of your's have done.

Mine makes me smile every time she takes a different prey item without any problems. She went from adult mice to rats to p/k rats to f/t rats over about 5 feedings, no joke. She's just such a good eater. I wonder if part of it is conditioning, because I feed in a seperate box- and this box reeks of rodent death, so she knows its food time the second she hits the floor, and strikes at anything that gets thrown in there (including my hands on their way out from placing her inside).

ErR, Didn't you prekill the mouse before you feed it to your snake?
I think the prekilling would make me smile first! :P

i should have..since it bit me. take a pan to that lil fart. you know those "this is your brain on crack" commercials?

ok back to why your snake makes you smile

watching him try to get out of his cage and then fall makes me giggle
when he grabs the wrong end of the mouse to eat
when his curiousity takes him down the bra of my girlfriend :D
when he escapes (only happened once....) and everyone is scared for no reason

umm..i'll come up with some more

aww. i always kind of feel bad slamming a mouse around, so i use dry ice in gas chamber style executions. it makes me smile after roswell eats and realizes its over, and tries to get back in the box thinking he will get more if he stays in there. (we used to feed them 2 smaller prey items instead of one larger one).

Wow, a snake wreaking vengence! Never heard of that before.
My big male, Goblin, actually will sit on the couch while me and the boyfriend are watching TV, and it seems like Gobby is watching the movie too. If it's boring, he'll yawn. Maybe it's just the heat from the TV that makes him stare?
