Sick OG pickup from Atl repticon
I got this little OG from full spectrum reptiles at the Atlanta show. I brought him home and noticed he had symptoms of an RI, and took him to the vet and started him on Baytril anhttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/12/03/nytegu3u.jpgd f10 nebulization. He is improving and hopfully will fully recover.

That's awful. Did you contact the breeder about it?

Sorry for your troubles. I just Googled Full Spectrum Reptiles and this is the first link that came up. http://geckoforums.net/f56-business-...orts/81538.htm

Doesn't look promising. You may also want to be diligent for mites based on the content of the threads.

Hope things work out for you.

There's an email address for them listed at http://www.geocities.ws/dragonring2000/dragonring.html but I have no idea how current the info is. Can't hurt to try.

If the vendor sold a sick animal he should either offer an exchange or cover the vet bill.

What's the reason for the soaking?

I was swabbing his mouth with chlorhexadine and giving oral baytrel and I was told to up the temps and humidity so I figured I would give him a warm bath and get the residual meds off him and he seemed to like it besides he was dehydrated and drank the water when he soaked and it seemed to do him good he would come out when he was ready.

    That really sucks :(

My two cents, I wouldn't soak him. When fixing respiratory infections humidity/dampness is not your friend. You want to keep them warm and at a lower humidity than normal. I've even heard of people taking the water bowl out most of the time. My other cent, oral antibiotics are no good for RIs. You need injections. I would also keep up with the f10, 20 mins a day. Yes I do realize this exposes them to super high humidity, but it's a sterilizer and it has chemicals to dry the solution.

Thankyou for the info and How long should I continue the f10? He is so much better now he has become strong and combative when I give him the meds when for awhile he couldnt even keep his mouth shut. I didcontinued the soaking a couole days ago because he didnt act like he liked it but Ive been told two different things on the humidity but sounds like you know what your saying so Ill lower humidity. Thankyou so much.
