Python won't come out of behind toilet!
Hi all, I came here specifically for help with my ball python. She is about 1.5 ft long and has a favorite spot that is between the wall and back of my toilet in a hole at the base of the toilet. I can only fit my hand in there, and cant feel her...thats how deep the hole is. She has been in there for several hours.

I have cracked the window and turned the lights off in order to lower the temp. And i put her heating pad in front of the toilet where she has to get out in order to bask.

    Anything else i can do?

    Thanks

Scent the room with a rat or mouse?

I saw the heading to this and I am so sorry but I started laughing! I know this is serious so I shall compose myself.

You could try to entice her out with food? If it gets cold she may bury herself further into the hole rather than coming out? I have never experienced anything like this so it's just speculation from me. I hope you get her out! I would advise stopping her going there in the future though due to issues like this. Good luck!

I'd say you have better luck keeping the heat up and using food as a lure.

If she gets cold she is likely to just stay where she feels safe.

Lol i know its funny. She got out of her cage in the middle of the night and snuck in there. Im going to stuff the area with paper towels once i get her out. She just ate yesterday night! Lol so she isnt going to respond to food right?

Will that still work if i just live fed her last night? She is not used to thawed but will the scent entice her if she is full?

She still may come out when she smells food. Even if she isn't hungry I would imagine she would investigate...

You're not hopeless! When things like this happen your brain goes "What can I do?!" And you do what comes to mind first. Trust me I have done much sillier things. I would keep it warm for her and put down salt (I may be wrong about salt hoping salt is okay, someone will correct me If I'm wrong) if you can't get her out so you can see where she has moved to if she does come out.

She may not go for the food but worth a try!

Lol i think they say to use flour. She is so stubborn, she only peeked her head out when i was getting ready this morning and my bf sees her head in the air by the toilet seat and says UM why is she here?! lol of course she went right back in when i tried to grab her. Ill keep waiting!

There we go, flour! I knew I was looking for a kitchen staple! My new mojave got out on his first night with me! I got him home, put him and the lesser on the heat and popped out for dinner, came back to a mojave chilling on the book shelf! Turns out he can open his tub!

I'm sure she'll come back out and when she does I demand pictures. We LOVE pictures! :D

We love typical looking just as much as funky looking and quirky looking :) You, my friend, have the BP bug. Expect to have about 20 by this time next year ;) they're addictive!

I have 8 and they all come out! My het gs was having a good old smell of my face and then wrapped herself around the bun in my hair. I try to handle them all for around 20-30 mins when I can :)

I lasted 2 weeks between BP 1 and 2, then I went nearly 4 weeks and got numbers 3, 4, 5 & 6 on the 14th and 15th of last month and number 7 and 8 came on Friday! Love them all :D

Omg so pretty! And wow you have a lot lol do you think you will have them their whole life? I updated my profile pic so you can see mine, not sure what she technically is called lol I call her Babe

8 is nothing :) honestly I find no difference in care just more snakes for handling and loving really :) I can't imagine giving them up unless circumstances were so terrible I couldn't do anything else. If you go on BP pictures I uploaded a "collection" thread with pics of them all if you'd like to see. I'll have a look at Babe on your profile :)

The thread in BP pictures is the bottom of page 2 :)

AHHH! She peeked her head out. I turned back off the lights and moved her pad where she could see it.

Leave be for a little while and if you can turn the bathroom light off if an outside light sheds enough to get some view in the bathroom, she may feel secure enough to come out to the mat and hide :)
