Are these two pictures of the same animal?
Okay, so I recently picked out a female pastel ball python, that I should be picking up on Monday or Tuesday. The breeder sent me pictures of the four female pastels she had left, and let me pick which one I liked the most. I really liked the 2nd and 3rd pictured animals, and sorta on a whim picked the third one. But now that I'm looking back I'm 99.99% sure the two pictures are of the same animal, just at different angles.

I'm not blaming the breeder at all, I'm sure it's really easy to get pics mixed up when you're dealing with a bunch of babies of the same morph. But the two "other" pictures she sent me were of much lower quality pastels, which looked pretty dark brownish.

I'm not sure if I should mention anything or just let it be... she's giving me a screaming deal on this snake. She's local so I'm not paying shipping, and I'm getting a female pastel 66% het clown for $50. I just don't know what to say if I get the animal and it ends up being a different one than the picture I picked out?

Anyway, here are the two photos under question. The first photo is the one I specifically picked out, and the second is the one I suspect is the same exact animal, but at a different angle.

X2 patterns match exactly. Just bring a pic and match it to the snake you're getting so you know you're getting the one you picked.

    It is.

If you want me to show you what to look for when comparing to make sure you get the same snake I will circle it and post the picture back. That way you have two sure signs to match.

Thanks everyone! I can now see that the pattern matches 100%

I'm just worried that I don't really have the right to bring anything up if I do end up getting a different snake than the one pictured. Like I said, I'm getting her for a really reduced price, and the breeder's husband is actually the one brining the snake into town, so I wouldn't really want to bring it up with him.

I guess I'll just hope that I get the one I want! I know the breeder is very well intentioned. She gave me an update on her exact weight, when she last ate, and when she's expected to shed next, so I know she's referring to a specific animal. I just hope it's the same animal I was referring to!

And Neal, that might be helpful! That way I can know right away if it's the same snake without standing there looking like an idiot comparing it to my phone pic or something...

I wouldn't mind seeing it just for my own education.

While I've never seen two snakes with the exact same pattern, I usually find a thing or two that stand out noticeably and wouldn't be on all of them. I would bring a picture just in case there was that freakish odd.

I've circled to two differences that I would look for:

    Thanks! That's helpful!

That little black bit on the neck pattern is one of the things which initially made me realize it was the same snake... so I'll look for that and the tail one too :)

    Thank you again

breeder most likely mixed up some pictures, I've done it copying and pasting photobucket links, thought I copied one I didn't and got mixed up, I would just email them saying you think you got 2x picture of the same snake. breeder shouldn't be offended or anything, It happens.
