Paul Walker dead?
Just read Paul Walker died today. If that's true that is disappointing. Great actor

How'd he die?

Paul Walker dead?
Oops, nm, just saw this on facebook.
So allegedly this was whats left of his porsche:
http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/12/01/7ada9e4a.jpg
I'm sure speed wasn't a factor at all there.... Smh
-
From what I read it wasn't his Porsche. It belonged to a friend of his and he was a passenger. Both perished in the accident which isn't surprising seeing that picture you posted.

Looks terrible

I'm on a Fast and Furious movie marathon because of this T_T

Re: Paul Walker dead?
How ironic, makes fast and furious films ,crashes while in a porsche, that loses control and crashes and he dies...that usually happens when ppl speed or drive like a you know what.
this is going to sound wrong to some ,lol, but I won't lose any sleep tonight. I didn't know him, hard to have any hurt emotions. Life is cruel man. Things happen for a reason.

The sad part though is people assume he was the driver.
-
I for one ever made that assumption,so I'm in the clear, lol,my post never states he was the driver..plus idc if he was driving or not, this unfortunate death does not affect me in any way. Always horrible when someone dies, especially not from natural causes but I'm sorry to say it,but I don't feel any remorse what so ever....
And the roads don't look slippery at all either,no rain or snow,so the driver was diving like a clown and I doubt Mr.Walker was telling him " can you please slow down a little bit" lol..Porsches and cars just don't lose control on dry ground smash into trees demolish into nothing and blow up cause people were driving safely..IMHO,this is a fact ;)
on another note

It takes one to know one. Assuming just makes you look like a damn fool, and at this point i think i'm just gunna start referring to you as Damn Fool.
You're right, you don't. You need to be banned from the site because you're a pest. I feel like this is an episode of Monsters Inside Me. Damn fools aren't monsters though. They're just poor misunderstood creatures, most likely with mommy issues...

In my less than a month stay here, I completely agree with you.
Here's something I've had to tell to those who like to state the obvious. (On FB)
Quote:
For those of you saying "Paul Walker was just an actor. Think about all the other people who died today as well."
Just an FYI before you get unfriended. Yes, he was an actor who died. Yes, he was a famous person who is getting so much recognition because of his roles in movies. Yes, all the other people in the world who died also need recognition. We, as car people, know these things.
You are probably saying that so easily because you don't understand the role he's had in so many people's lives. If you aren't into cars, it can be even easier to say and dismiss people as being shallow for mourning the loss of an actor.
But, Paul Walker was a true car enthusiast. He loved and lived it inside and outside his movies. He inspired millions around the world, giving them hope and dreams to strive for. Yes, the majority of those people probably had no direct contact or a relationship to him. But the amount of recognition he's getting, he deserves.
I hope you've read this all the way down to here so that I can tell you. Your easy dismissal of a person's death is the equivalent to dismissing my own hopes and dreams of what I can strive for and achieve in life. His death doesn't put him above any other person who's died, and it is that aspect, that you have so easily forgotten.
-
Unfortunately, guys, in this instance NYHC is more or less on the same page with me. He went about it a little wrong, but why is Paul Walker so important?
Frankly, how many people are aware of the tomb of the unknown soldier? How many soldiers died in the month prior to this death?
Sadly, I'm not affected either. There are more people who have died that are simply more important. And it's because they aren't celebrities, unlike Walker, that you don't hear about it.

Paul Walker dead?
Well, he isn't any more important than other good people who have died. Hating on the guy and calling him an inconsiderate jerk (while he was on the way to an even for HIS charity lmao) is what bugs me. He also came into the thread just making a ton of assumptions, like Paul Walker had personally wronged him at some point or something.

It's one thing to be neutral about it, you know, like how you don't care and that's fine. It's another to be hateful and negative about it though. He's hating on a dead dude as if he bullied him all his childhood. NYHC has no respect for the dead or the living.
-
I just liked his movies and will miss seeing new ones.
Unless he pulls a biggie smalls and his stuff is released after he's gone

The thing that bothers me about it is that he wasn't the one driving. Had he been the one behind the wheel acting a fool and got someone else killed that would be a different story.

You know Paul Walker wasn't a bad guy right. He was constantly reaching out and helping people in need. You know that he was once at a jewelry store and a soldier came in to buy an engagement ring. The soldier didn't realize that the ring was going to cost $15k but Walker saw the whole scenario and told the jeweler to put the soldiers ring on his tab to thank him for his service. The soldier didn't even know who Paul Walker was and was blown away by such a huge act of kindness. It's always a sad day when someone who has such a great interest in the well being of other people dies, celebrity or not.

Gonna need you to provide evidence on that one, or walker may have been capable of walking on water.

Does it matter who it is? Speaking ill of the dead is just plain wrong. Period...
If you can't say anything nice, then don't say anything at all.
He sounds like a good and decent person who met an untimely end all too soon. His friends and family will be deeply saddend by his loss and I feel badly for them.
-
Re: Paul Walker dead?
Couple of points... No single person is more important than any other. Death is death. Saying anything about how much money he made through out his life is just asinine to be honest. He was doing his job that he was good at. He got paid what he was worth. Any person bashing on this incident or any death should be banned from speaking to another human being for as long as they live. How would you feel if someone you cared about died and then the mass social media started bashing them? Seriously some people just need to grow up. If it did not have an impact on your life great for you but it did impact someones life. His wife now has no husband, his daughter now has no father, and so on.... To me it is sad when anyone dies because human life is far to valuable and most people treat it like it is nothing. I feel nothing but pity for anyone who is making light of this or any death.
-
Re: Paul Walker dead?
Liking or not liking someone is one thing. We're all entitled to that. But completely disrespecting someone like some of the people here are doing is just plain rude and unsavory.
I never liked Paul Walker as an actor. But I did enjoy the first Fast and the Furious movie. He drove and showcased a Supra and Skyline, which I fangasmed over.

Try Google. CNN backs and confirms the story. Your cynicism doesn't change the years of work he's done with multiple charities, either.
Although I agree it's sad that the average Joe doesn't usually get the recognition he may deserve upon death, why does that mean a celebrity who has used his status to do great works deserves to be minimized and scoffed at?

Quick Google search turned up the linked article, nothing else.
I'm not scoffing, yeah boohoo he's dead. But, why linger more than a moment? Did you actually know him? Did he spend Christmas with you every year? I guess I'm just weird in that, if I didn't know someone and they died then it doesn't really affect me.

This somewhat large of a read can maybe explain to you why it's such a big deal to some people.

That just told me that I don't understand but not why I don't. It didn't say what he actually did, just that he was into cars and people who are into cars are inspired by him so "be nice".
Sorry, I'm really not trying to come off as high and mighty (for lack of a family friendly term for it), it's just that there is no justification to me why were still talking about this.
I said the same things when Steve Jobs went.

It was like when Heath Ledger died. I was more bummed cause I enjoyed his work than anything. Was I a friend no but I like to watch his movies and to know that my enjoyment of his craft had come to an end was for me the thing that hit home.

Maybe an example closer to our hobby, when pro exotics fire happened, did you say it doesn't really affect me, who gives a crap?
I can tell you I did not lose sleep over it, I have never had a personal conversation with the people involved. Being in the reptile hobby is as close to the event as I came, but I no doubt generally felt bad for what happened, the lives that were lost and also felt bad for the people who were affected by it. Just a little empathy.
