Please Help!! Not sure whats wrong!!!

My husband and I have several BP's and when we went to check on them all tonight one of them had an EXTREMELY swollen tail. It feels to be fluid filled with one hard spot, feels like a 1/2in round ball, about a inch up from the cloaca, where the swelling stops. It ate a F/T small rat on Wednesday, and we soaked all the snakes in warm water yesterday. Yesterday there was no swelling and only the bulge from the rat it ate the previous day. It doesn't seem to be in pain even when we touch it. The vets office isn't open until Monday and we don't know what to do until then. It is pretty much swollen from the rat to the cloaca. We soaked it again just now and that's when I took these pictures. It is about 2ft long and seems perfectly healthy except the swelling. The temps are 80F cold side to 91F warm side. Looks like regular sausage butt to me: I bet she'll pass some big poo or urates soon. I wouldn't yet worry.

One of my snakes did this recently. I gave her a warm soak and I gently massaged her down by her vent. I could feel a couple of hard lumps floating around in there. She passed a lot of huge urates!

She hasn't passed anything yet and it still swollen :-( we are still soaking and have done a little massaging. Hopefully she will pass what ever it is soon! She hasn't been moving a whole lot but I'm sure this is uncomfortable for her, I don't blame her.

See if you can get her to move around in her bath, that should help too along with gentle massage.

I know I'm new here, but you said it was a female....could it be that you started cooling her and shes beginning to develop eggs? Other than that Its probably poop like the others said.

This is a baby female not an adult. She just needs to poop. Give her time. The more you stress her the less likely she will do her business. Let her be, keep your parameters spot on and leave her be for a few days. If she has pooped by her next feeding then start all the soaking and other stuff.

Most snakes don't poop until they shed, so just wait till she sheds.
Not to mention, if you soak her too much, it will ruin her next shed.

Ok we will discontinue the soakings and let her be. Thanks everyone for your advice!

Sausage butt. Lol. Put him in a container of warm water for about 15 minutes. The poop will come. Lol make sure the water isn't to high tho. Just snuff where he doesn't have to struggle to keep his head above it.

Buy some really expensive bedding. The most expensive you can find. Whatever it is, make sure it costs a lot. Take her out of her tub and set her where she can watch you. Replace her bedding with new expensive aspen bedding. Take your time. Put some effort in. Spread it and fluff it and make it as perfect as you can. Let her see you're putting a lot of effort into making her tub's bedding as perfect as it can be.

Set snake in tub. Wait 5 mins.

Poop. Everywhere. Guaranteed.

Its been a week still no bm... she struck at my husband 2x last night which she's never done before... we will be trying a soak tonight, haven't done one in 2 days.

That's not fun :/
It sounds like maybe she's just stressing over all of the attention.
I really don't have anything more to say other than what's been said.

Although, personally I would just keep watching for poop and any change in behaviour (apart from the striking - although if you leave her alone for awhile and she does it again that may be a sign of something).
Just go about your normal business perhaps, and try not to stress yourself either!
If you notice the swelling get larger and she is acting funny, then maybe take her to a vet - just in case. Maybe it could be something as simple as constipation. Although I do not know much about that in snakes :P

We haven't touched her in two days. We just have been peaking at her through the cage...if this doesn't pass in a few more days I'm gonna be bringing her in. But hopefully it will pass :-\
