    Want your opinion :)
Hey guys, I would like your opinion on which company I should buy from when it comes to feeders. I'm between "The Big Cheese Rodents" and "The Rat Deli". Have you ever bought feeders from either of them before and if so how did everything go? Were their feeders up to par? I also have another question regarding what I should feed my 300g ball python. He took down a 50g f/t rat with ease and at The Big Cheese Rodents they sell weaned rats that are 35-49g and small rats that are 50-89 grams. I'm not sure which one I should get because I don't want them to be too small or too big. So I'd like your opinion on that also :) I'm not sure where the weights of the feeders are on The Rat Deli, I don't think they have them listed at all which is kinda annoying. But thank you all for your help! :)

Oh and just another bit of info I picked these two companies because the shipping is cheaper than some of the other ones where you buy a ton of feeders in bulk, but I don't have many snakes to feed so I don't need hundreds of rats. Not yet anyway lol.

I've never purchased from them personally, but I've heard a lot of good things from Big Cheese. I don't think you would be disappointed by them.

If I had the choice between food that might possibly be too small or too big, I would take the ones that might end up too small. You can feed him two at a time if he outgrows the smaller ones, but you can't cut the big ones in half if they're too big.

Everyone does their feeding a little different. So you'll need to find something that works for you that's also manageable for you.

I personally would do once every 5 days. At 500g, I would switch him to 7 days.

I've ordered from the rat deli once. Got just enough to try them 1 week. Rodents seemed fine, packaging was great and the price was good as well. However when I finally decided to make a big order with them the shipping had changed dramatically making it less cost effective than some others.

My ball python is just about 300 grams now and I never go by weight, that's just a waste of time... I feed him a little larger than the fattest part of his body..I'm actually feeding him pretty large weaned rats..and ever 4-6 days..depends on when he poops really...avg is every 5 days I feed him

Stop saying that it's a waste of time to weigh the prey. That's not necessarily how you have to do it, but it's not a waste of time. Is it a waste of time to count calories over just eyeballing what's on your plate? Well, that depends on you. Same applies here.

You also forgot to mention that if you can't afford shipping charges no matter how high, then you shouldn't have pets.

I've never fed by weight before I got a scale but since I do it's just nice to know the weights of everything. I've been buying my rodents from aquatic critter and I've never known the weights of the rats I just went by the thickest part. But since aquatic critter is getting pricey I want to start buying from breeders online and they happen to have the weights of all the feeders :) so it's just nice to know. So now I can go buy thickness and weight. :)

The OP is ordering online. They cant measure the rodent. Please if you have nothing constructive to say in the conversation don't post.
