    Uninterested Male
I placed my male pewter with my female spider and they don't show any interest in each other but they'd lay together. Any tips on how to get them to lock up? :) I tried putting my pewter with other males but that didn't seem to work.

Relax, wait and let them 'get to know each other'

How long did you leave them together? Sometimes it takes a day or 2. Pair when a storm is moving in, always sets the mood 8) .

You can try wiping a sperm plug from another male on her back as well. Sometimes it just takes patience, and they will breed when they are ready. Just keep pairing :)

You can put the shed of another male in there. It works for me.

Thanks for the inputs. I am going to separate them until the next time another male sheds and try again. Thanks again.

The last two small males I got to breed I just put two males in at the same time. It did not take over a day for the results I was looking for. I will warn you though if you do not want the second gene from the other male then it may not be for you. I have literally only seen combat 2 times in my life in bp's and it was just a big shoving match both times. I did have good results using another males cage as the breeding cage. I just leave the paper in the tub from the first male(one that is a little used is best), and stick the female and male that I want her to breed to in there. He may crawl a whole lot and jerk a little, but he usually figures it out.

My 3 methods for a timid male :

    1) A: Put another male w/ the same genes as him in there n let them duke it out.
B: Put another male w/ different genes but genes you would not mind entering the female in there n let them duke it out.

    2) Put another males shed in there.

    3) Drop the night time temps down a good 4-5 degrees for an hour or 2 so they realize that the "season" or "climate" in their tub is changing and it must be that time of the year to get busy.

All males are different, but these 3 methods have all been successful for me.

Some males just take time. I've been pairing since October and I have one make who's uninterested when the female's practically begging for it. Your male may not be ready.
