    Help identifying morph
I am new to the ball python world and recently picked my first one up at a local reptile rescue center. They told me it was an axanthic morph, however I'm not sure if it is or not. I've read a lot on morphs and it just looks like normal coloring to me. However, maybe I'm just new to all this and don't know what to look for. Thanks in advance everyone.

It doesn't look like any axantics I've seen, it looks like a cinnamon. http://www.worldofballpythons.com/morphs/cinnamon/

It does look similar to the cinnamon, however, not so brown on the sides if it makes a difference. I appreciate the help I didn't think it was axanthic. Also thanks for the compliment crazymonkey.

I do not see axanthic, but it for sure looks every cinnamon or black pastel. The color says cinnamon, but the "squiggles" say black pastel, to me. Do you have any belly pictures?

What makes it a black pastel if you don't mind me asking, I got him for 100.00 was I ripped off? Is it worth trying to breed him?

I say Black Pastel too: the pattern, belly, and coloring all point to BP. $100 for a male BP that size is a fair price IMO.

No you didnt get ripped off. As for the breeding question thats up to you if he fits in to your breeding plans go for it. Me personally I would like to get a black pastel because I love how albino black pastels look.

The albino black pastel is amazing looking, do I have to breed it with an albino I'm assuming to achieve this?

You breed it to an albino and you get black pastels het albino then you take and breed one of the het babies back to the original albino. Its not garanteed you will pop out an albino black pastel but theres a chance

Look into lesser black pastels as well. They are very neat. And I agree with the yellow belly and pin idea.

BP = Black Pastel in this thread. Not Ball Python.

I usually abbreviate the same way if black pastel is involved......

It's so hard to just pick one as my next purchase. There are so many amazing morphs. Im really into the carmel glow because my fiancé loves purple. Any other suggestions on purple morphs?

The lavender albino looks more purple than the carmel glow. I haven't seen one in person is this just the picture?

Ok so now I'm torn between the Black Pastel and the Het Red Axanthic. I'm leaning towards the Het Red Axanthic. Ch^10, why do you think it is this over the Black Pastel.
