    Half gray half black eyes?
My Pastave het Pied girl just shed and I noticed that her eyes are half black and half gray. Is that a normal occurrence? I haven't really seen that around so I thought I'd share.

happens a lot when the pattern goes "through" the eye. you can see it follows the coloring around the eye. weird eh?!

A lot of BP's will have an eye that has that eye-stripe showing through it, provided it isn't entirely black. My normal, Julius, has eyes like that. Kind of like how in Boa constrictors, their pattern shows through their eye, and together with their pupil, it makes their eye look like a cross or plus sign. Neat stuff.

That's really interesting and definitely cool. Thanks for the answers everyone.

I wonder why it happens to some BPs and not others. For example my Albino has orange eyes even though the pattern goes throughout his eye. And my normal has solid colored eyes as well. Included photos for fun ;)

Yep, I've noticed their eyes are usually affected by the stripe through their eye. If you look really close you can see a slight difference in color in your albino and normal.

found some pics to show it! it's a lot easier to see in balls with lighter eye colours

I think pretty much all of mine, that do not have solid black eyes, have a color change where the stripe runs through.

Pretty much all of mine have the stripe too, it's normal. I think the odd balls are the ones with all black or nearly all black. :D
