It almost sounds like the snake was a bit of a stowaway!

That is awesome. Losing a snake sucks. The moment you find them it's like a weight you didn't realize was holding you down is finally lifted! I'm assuming someone else who lives or is friends with the former turd roommate returned the guy to you? lol
-
So I live in Winchester, Va and there is a mom and pop sorta pet store...mostly specializes in reptiles, birds, fish....I have become good friends with the reptile guy there (we are about the same age and hit it off over snakes). What the former roommate didnt realize is that this guy and me are friends...I had mentioned my escapee when it happened and he had asked through out the summer about any updates....former roomie turned the snake in to the pet store this morning with express instructions not to give the snake back to me b/c apparently I neglect my animals (former roomie even showed pet store ppl my photo and gave them a solid description of me)...not realizing that me and the pet store staff (specifically snake dude) are all friends by this point. Pet store snake guy called me an hour after snake was dropped off with a "hey didnt you have an escaped snake this summer" phone conversation. Needless to say he was basically like get your butt here and get your snake lol....

Wow, what a vindictive person! To go through all that trouble just to spite you. I'd say he has a crush on you lol If you dislike a person so much, why devote so much of your time and energy to them? I don't get people :p Well who is laughing now?! Karma at its finest.

here in italy your room mate could get attested for pulling that.. what an immature douchebag

umm, so, did your roomate steal the snake?
or was it really a legitimate escape, your roomate found it first, and instead of telling you he tried to sell it without your knowledge?
really NOT NICE either way. and again it shows the importance of being well-connected, it reminds me of the two cases where groups of stolen snakes turned up because the perpetrators attempted to sell to someone who had heared what happened.

Re: Great news!!!
Its awesome you got your snake back. Its bad you had to deal with a jerk though. Good to have friends around that will help you out like the guy at the pet store did.

Re: Great news!!!
Wow, that is awesome! And talk about a roundabout way of getting your snake back! So how is the little guy after his adventure?
And, is your roommate still your roommate?
-
Sorry
clear up a few things
the roommate is a female
secondly it was a legit escape
my roommate and I no longer talk nor after 5+ yrs of friendship are we friends anymore either.

The snake needs to eat...but so far has refused a live mouse and f/t mouse...and has some burn (not sure if hot or cold) damage to his belly scales and some cold temp damage to a few areas along his back...my buddy at the pet store said it should all heal up in a few sheds. Snake's disposition is great just like it was before the escape.

So have you told you room mate that you got it back? Just to spite HER as she tried to do to you?
I am curious, and I hesitate to ask because you could say whatever you think I want to hear, but what are your setups like if she said that you neglect your animals?

No I have not told her I have it back...I dont want to get my buddy at the pet store stuck in the middle of this mess. I would rather just be done with her and the drama that seems to hover around her.
I dont believe in saying what ever I think people want to hear(i think its dishonest and manipulative...I have always been blunt and to the point cuz I would rather tell you the truth and possible offend or anger someone over lying to your face to spare being PC or one's feelings). I will tell you exactly like it is.
My set ups are that all my snakes are in T8s with underbelly heat at a constant 90 degrees as controlled by a herpstat 4...ambient temps are between 78 and 82 year round with a water bowl square in the middle and a standard reptile basics identical hide for each the cold side and hot spot. I completely empty and clean them by hand once a month and spot check/clean about 3-5 days. I check each T8 twice a day and feed them all once a week (sometimes closer to 8-10 days based on my schedule and their bodily functions)...rotating between live and F/t rats which they all devour with no problem except for my dumerils and 1 of the 11 BPs. I also have some fake greenery and a climbing log thingy that I made custom after buying a bunch of them at petsmart and redoing them in each tank. I have spared no expense in regards to my pets and just to give you all an idea of my roommate and former friend...she used to keep her cornsnake on no substrate and was convinced it needed both UVB and UVA basking lamps.
-
LOL, love her corn setup! Yeah, I believe you and good for you. Maybe she doesn't agree with tubs and thinks that since you didn't put them on leashes and take them for walks that you neglect them? Whatever man, some people are simply idiots and you can't fix stupid!
