I have what I think may be a reduced female. I can make no claims though, til she's bred. I will buy a reduced male for her next year and maybe the following year, breed them and see what happens.https://ball-pythons.net/modules/cop...328/bela2p.JPG

That would be great if they prove out, but if not they were still cheaper than farmed from Petco and are a lot cooler. :)

How much do you think two 66% possible het albinos (female&Male) would cost me at Daytona? :ashamed

Also, if I bred a 66% possible het albino male to a norm ... I wouldn't get any albino babies right? I'm not really sure =/
I know Marla can help me! :aww:
  • 08-07-2004, 03:10 AM
    RobertCoombs
even if you bred a 100% het to a normal you still would not get any albinos you would have 50% pos hets if your 66% pos het is indeed a het the best you could hope for would be 50% pos hets if its not the babies would be 100% normal as would the parents.
to get albinos you would need two 100% hets or an albino and a 100%
    het
This may help you a little , simple recessive is the easy stuff wait till you start trying to figure out 2-3 combined dominant or codom traits

    A male and female.

That answer is going to vary widely. I got lucky and got my 2.0 for (I think) $125 shipped, but neither is female, which tend to cost more. I wouldn't be surprised if you could get a hatchling pair of poss hets for a couple of hundred at a show or from a smaller breeder. Here's a 100% het pair for $675: http://market.kingsnake.com/detail.php?cat=32&de=239530 or another for $650: http://market.kingsnake.com/detail.php?cat=32&de=241142

Could also depend on what morph you are looking to get Blink. Search some breeders websites .. that should give you a general idea.

I'm picking up a male het albino Sunday. Where in GA are you from. If you don't get a male and you decide you want to prove her out keep me in mind, we could split the clutch or something.

Back on topic, I have a male pastel named Papi, and am hoping to pick up a couple female sub-adult+ normals in Daytona to breed to him next year, or maybe a couple 50% het females to breed to the het albino I am getting. (wish me luck)

itmaymb i live in savannah, ga. i'd definitely be willing to go into something like that. it will probably be a good two years or more until she is ready though--she's just a baby now. hopefully by then i'll have another bp or two in my collection, but you never know what's gonna happen, so we may just have to get them together for a little play date.

Sounds like you are off to a great start! You might want to round them up and put them back in their cages though. ;)

OMG! I thought you were being tongue-in-cheek about that and I was teasing. Wow ... having a snake that expensive get loose must drive you nuts and have you very worried. I know I would be. But yeah, loose snakes do tend to thin out the visitors a bit. ;)

    .hmmmm?
lol...one time we had people over and it was around 6 in the evening and it wasnt to hot anymore so i thought i would bring roxy outside and so me and her were sittin on the porch while everyone played soccer in the yard and somebody kicked the ball over the fence and into the next door neighbors yard and they sent me to get it so i took rox with me and the people got all scared and asked me how big she would get and i told them somewhere around maybe 4-5 feet (since she is a female) and they FREAKED OUT and told me never to let her loose to go around eating children........i just looked at them and was like........umm.....can i get my ball now ??

    Hockeymom,

You produced that pied, right? I think I saw the thread where it was hatching but missed it actually coming out so nice to see.

I think pied and spider should cross in value eventually. Plus if you can get that pied eating and growing well it will increase in value so I bet you'll be able to make your trade. I'm thinking of trying the same thing if I ever start producing pieds as I think a male spider is a must have.

    Hi Randy-
Yes Smiley (that's what the kids call the pied because of the face shaped pattern on her back) is the Pied who refused to hatch until the very last possible moment. It was quite the drama for about 3 days. It was really exciting but probably aged me a few years. I really want to get in on the bumble bee project, and then the killer bee. We will see what happens.
