    FedEx finally made it
So I finally got two boxes from the fedex guy today and was eager to tear into them. When I opened the box of the pied female yearling, I noticed that there was no heat pack included in the package. I pulled her out and she was pretty chilled and not moving much; although, there was a flicker or two from her tongue. I shot her with a temp gun and she was around 66 degrees. I immediately dropped her into her tub to help her raise her body temp. Any advice here if I should do something else? Assuming that this is normal behavior after a cold transit, but no heat pack worried me.

My other box from Justin was packed correctly; although the bee and pastel pied were both pretty cold too, so I dropped them into their tubs and when they get warmed up and a little more comfortable I will take some better pics, but for now, I will share these pitiful excuses for pictures that do not do these new additions justice!

Difficult to be photogenic when you are freezing, but I will update pics later on this afternoon.

Thanks! Excited to get them; although, I fear that this is just the tip of the iceberg and my pockets will be hurting over the next year haha

Thanks! Yeah I almost didn't post the pics, but figured once they get a little warmed up they would be a little more willing to work with me for some better pics. I just peeked my head in to check on them and all of them were full on exploring their new tubs, so as soon as I find a break between conference calls (work from home), I will get some better ones.

Great looking new pick ups! Sorry to hear they caught the chill, did you call the sellers? In any case, glad they are warming up and getting active. Cant wait for the next set of pics :D

Nice animals, I'm a little jealous. I would drop the seller a noteabout the temperature issues, just so they can know for future reference.

Yayy I'm glad your little beauties came today! I'm sorry they came chilled though! 66 degrees! Omg my heart sank when I read that! Definitely give them breeder a heads up on what happened! No one wants to get a frozen or cooked snake, poor things. Hopefully it was just an accident that he forgot the heat pack but still, lives on the line!

Yeah I did touch base with him, since I thought he might have had a reason as to why he didn't include one given his reputation in the community (Steve Roussis) and he did confirm that he did not put a heat pack in due to the temps not being an issue last night. I actually put a temp gun on the pastel pied and bee from Justin Kobylka (which did have a heat pack) and the snakes were only a couple degrees off from her, so I don't know if I got worried for nothing. I will get some new pics by this evening and thanks for all of the positive feedback everyone!

Nice Pick-ups and I would think heat packs are really not needed just yet. We are at the point where sellers should start monitoring the weather prior to shipping though.

It's a hard type of climate to ship in right now, just because temps are fluctuating wildly all over the country. Last night was close to 40 here in PA, probably no more than 65 today. Still, glad your babes made it to you whole, if a little chilled!

yeah man I live in Roanoke! Small world!

So I tried to get some better pics but still taken with my phone. The pastel pied was really the only one that was being photogenic, although convenient enough he is going into shed so his white is more pink. The bumblebee was a bit stressed and was persistent that she wouldn't stay out of a ball for a pic, but I will try after they are a bit more acclimated and comfortable. Even the pied female yearling didn't want to cooperate, but I will get some better pics over the next couple of days.

They should of used a heat pack. It would piss me off if I get a ball that guns in the mid 60's. I sent an animal to New Jersey, that got there this morning, and asked the buyer about the temp of the animal. I like to gauge the heat pack to the temps it went through. He told me the snake felt the same temp as if he pulled it out of his rack.

    haha thanks!

I did just want to clarify that working with both Steve and Justin was a good experience. Steve explained why he didn't include a heat pack and that he was looking at the weather and considering the other hatchlings were close in temperature I think it was nothing wrong on his end. I would and plan to work with both Breeders again.

Just wanted to add a little update on the pastel pied. He shed out yesterday and made a mess of his tub, so I had to clean it and while I was at it snapped a couple pics without bothering him too much.

Offered him a f/t hopper yesterday and although he was interested (first f/t for him) he didn't take it, but have a feeling he will take the next one offered to him. The bee girl struck and constricted a rat pup but got skiddish and dropped it, I am pretty sure she will take the next one offered too. The pied girl took a f/t sm rat without hesitation, but the two girls are very shy. Hopefully they will get a little more comfortable and come out of their shell here in the next week or so.
