IVORY $7 GHOST. New morph update
This past weekend Michael Groover, of Savannah Georgia, has had the ivory 7 dollar ghost designer morph added to the world of ball python morph list. http://www.worldofballpythons.com/mo...-dollar-ghost/ . This new line of ghost was found by Tim Lane of ballroom pythons. The $7 ghost was named after Tim had received a shipment of imported balls and paid $7 for the animal. Check out the $7 ghost here. http://www.worldofballpythons.com/mo...-dollar-ghost/ this line is a stunning example of the ghost morph. The dame and sire of the clutch were both yellowbelly het $7 ghost and the clutch consisted of 1.1 ivory 7 dollar ghosts 1.1 yellowbelly 66% het 7 dollar ghost and 0.1 visual 7 dollar ghost. Most of these animals were held back by Michael Groover. Thank you all for taking your time to read this. These animals are outrageous and are the perfect example.

IVORY $7 GHOST. New morph update
Are they compatible with other lines of hypo?

Re: IVORY $7 GHOST. New morph update
Thought u were saying they are worth $7 for like a second there haha overall they look awesome
"Snakes don't bite. Just humans."

They have not been crossed with other line as of yet. I have purchased the male ivory 7 dollar ghost which is in the picture on WOBP and will be testing compatibility

This is not the appropriate place for advertisement.

Re: IVORY $7 GHOST. New morph update
I have had success in mixing the "common line " of hypo into the 7 dollar hypo line. I have several projects this season to further prove this line mixes with the common hypo thats out there. I have talked to other breeders that have attempted the 7 dollar hypo line with the OG and Green ghost and have had no success as of yet. I have only been working with the common hypo line and the 7 dollar hypo line. I have held back all of the 7 dollar hypos and hets that I have produced (also the mixing of the common hypo ) to further prove the lines before I put them out there for all to see and buy. I dont like to go half cocked on something.

These are some stunning animals and I am hoping to get a lot of outbreeding this year to make some yellowbelly combo 100% hets. I am super excited about this project. The ivory 7 dollar ghost is a genetic powerhouse IMO and it a great start

What makes this a different morph than just another one of the 10+ lines of ghost?
-
What makes it any different to a Hypo Ivory other that there are not any pictures of one?

When you say you have produced a "mixing" of the $7 and "common" hypo, does this mean you have produced hypomelanistic animals? Have the other breeders you spoke with crossed a $7 with an OG and not gotten hypos? Please clarify.

Check out clutch #87 on this page. http://www.coreywoods.com/ball_birth...ur_position=80 Corey this ivory ghost is from Michael cole who from my understanding worked close with Tim lane in that description Corey states that this line was not compatible with nerd line orange ghost or his line green ghost. If I am reading into this all wrong please let me know

He also states the ivory ghost isn't even proven to be a ghost.
In the other thread, they claim to have success breeding this line and standard line, which includes orange butterscotch yellow and many other lines. Which I don't see why this is being treated as a new morph.
However reading corey's record there, he makes it sound like he has a line of green ghost that is not compatible with the normal hypos. I have read of people proving green and normal hypos compatible so I'd be interested in what he has to say about his experience, possibly different morphs being called the same thing? I'll have to email him when I get home.

:confusd::confusd: So was it successful or have you not attempted any breeding yet :confusd::confusd:
This is my request from the other thread.

The "single-gene" Seven Dollar Ghost looks like a hypo fire???? Is it just me?
http://www.worldofballpythons.com/mo...-dollar-ghost/
Look at SansCera's Hypo fire from a couple years back: http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showt...8660-Fire-Hypo

I read it as he had success to the normal hypo, but hasn't tired any other lines, which would be a waste of time imo, since you already know what it is compatible with.

Looks like a very blushed but average hypo to me.

IVORY $7 GHOST. New morph update
Ghost or Hypo, why can't just one name stick.
-
Why would WOBP put the $7 ghost as a new morph and the ivory $7 ghost as a new designer morph if there was no difference. Is WOBP not a reliable source of information. Not trying to argue with you OWAL but deffinatly not a normal hypo/ghost to me.

well, actually, WOBP is notoriously unreliable. i found mistakes and reported them to WOBP several times.
they dont realize that butter and lesser are basically the same morph, same is true for banana and coral glow. ive also found duplicates, two entries under two different names for exactly the same morph. they had "black pastel lesser" and "black platinum", both with the genetics black pastel + lesser. toffino and candino are listed as double-recessives. and when you breed a toffino to a normal in their calculator, it says you get 100% double-hets, het toffe + het albino. they had banana listed as a recessive for quite a while. ive seen plenty of super combos, for example combos containing super pastel, listed as containing only a single pastel gene. stuff like that of course also effects their genetic calculator. and half of the morphs on WOBP are not tagged properly so they dont show up when you search for the genes they contain. their calculator thinks that hypo and butterscotch ghost are incompatible and lead to double hets.
i could go on and on. anyway, i trust the experts on this forum much more than i trust WOBP. Sure, people here also make mistakes, but if they do, someone else notices it and clears it up.
And WOBP is also very lax when it comes to accepting "new genes" that are just a new name for some other gene. when you get them to accept "bling yellowbelly" as a new gene it surely makes it easy to get a bunch of "new" world first morphs, that the combos already exist with regular yellowbelly and the stuff looks completely the same doesnt seem to matter. So NERD produced the first lemon pastel yellowbelly in 2007 and the first lemon pastel bling yellowbelly in 2012. Yeah right. Nothing against NERD, but it surely must be nice for NERD that WOBP just believes every single thing they say.
getting WOBP to believe in stuff you want them to believe in is a really, really low hurdle. one of these days a troll will get the better of them and get them to accept something ridiculous like a new line of "Donald Duck pastel" or something, or maybe a BP that got a paintjob with food coloring or something, maybe a BEL painted to look like a panda pied, im waiting for it. or get them to accept a totally redundant morph called "occam's razor", the irony would be awesome. Mark my words, it will happen, one day a troll will come and totally and completely own them with some genious prank.

Short answer to above.... no they are not.
I guess we will have to agree to disagree, the animal is very blushed, which looks nice, but the hypo part doesn't set itself apart from many other hypos I have seen, at least in my eyes.
