MONARCH....Babies and Adults!
Hello everyone, just wanted to share the latest developments in "The Monarch Project" The project is doing great and I'm excited with the clutch of visuals that recently hatched. The pairing was the Monarch Pastel male, to the original DH female, het for Monarch and Genetic Stripe. In this clutch, I produced the first Monarch Super Pastels, which is what I was really hoping for. Knowing how light in color the Adult Monarch Pastel turned out, I can hardly wait to see how light in color the Super will be!

As always, I would like to thank Steve Gooch for the amazing pictures.....he always does an outstanding job! Thanks Steve!

These first two pics show the variance between the babies. From left to right: Pastel, Monarch Pastel, Monarch Super Pastel, and Normal.

Now a side by side shot of the Monarch Pastel and Monarch Super Pastel babies....super on left

Here is the Monarch Super Pastel baby

The next two pics are of the Monarch Pastel baby

I love these next shots! They are the Monarch Pastel Adult with the baby Monarch Pastels. Really shows the changes that occur from a baby to an adult!

Similar pic as above, but I threw the Monarch Super Pastel baby in the mix....super is on the left

Super baby will be towards the bottom of these next two pics.

This pic has the Adult Monarch on top, Monarch Pastel, and the Monarch Pastel baby, and the Monarch Super Pastel baby, which is on the left.

    And lastly......the Adult Monarch!!

I hope you all enjoy the pics! I'm always happy to answer any questions! Thanks for looking!

Did I miss a pastel some where?

You said the pairing was Monarch Pastel x Double het monarch gen stripe. That right there cannot throw super pastels, or at least that's how I do genetics. Anyone feel free to correct me.

I've seen these pictures in the past and I'm always blown away, I just love the colours you've got there and I can't wait to see what else you have in store. Keep up the good work!

Also, I hope you're planning to be at Tinley again next year because I'm hoping I can go to that one and I'd love to see these in person. Haha.

These are just amazing. This is the first I have heard of them, but my goodness they are just breathtaking! The adult Monarch is beautiful, and the Pastel Monarch is surreal. I would love to see more combos with this gene. I wonder what it would do with Lesser? Mojave? Cinnamon? Or Pied?

Very interesting project! I believe this gene could do great things plugged into other morphs like fire and enchi!

Good luck with your project! Looks awesome.

It seems like every month I'm adding another recessive to the "need one of those" list, and these are going right up near the top!

    Nikki,

Thanks so much for the compliment.....I actually have three eggs in the incubator from the Monarch Pastel X Fire. So, it's a step in that direction....just takes some time.
