So...There's this ad. On Craigslist. For these guys.

I want them SO bad. I've had this ad open on my browser for days. I can't get my mind off of them...I just got 2 new pickups at the Sacramento show, and I know I don't need them, but I REALLY want to get out of ball pythons and make the switch to hoggies. And I REALLY like the looks of both of these guys. They're both just...perfection, to me. I already offered a trade for my some of my balls, but got no response. I figured it didn't hurt.

I'm going to be getting my big paycheck in a little bit, and...well, I want to make an offer on them if they're still around by then.

What do you think?? What do you think is a fair offer? I won't spend $400 on them, but I want to be fair.

They're cute!!! Do it. Lol

i say wait until you get your BP collection down first....if you can't sell the BPs you'll only end up with more mouths to feed by getting these hogs.

Mmm...but it's not an issue to feed mouths...my rats are self-sustaining (mostly. I can definitely afford their care) and I bought enough mouse pinks at the show to get them up to rat pinks. :P

I do need to get my bps down, though. I agree. But I'd hate to have these hoggies haunt me...

in that case its just a matter of time/space and moneys. I know you've got a lot on your plate as it is, and dont want you to get overwhelmed.

I don't want to sound cold/uncaring, but one hognose will be similar to (not the same) as another...if you don't get these ones there will be others

I'd personally pass on the male. You can get an albino male cheaper for equal or greater quality elsewhere. He's on the more expensive side of the spectrum for albino hogs.

The female seems more reasonable.

If you want my personal opinion, I would just wait until you rehome your ball pythons first. I've been trying to sell a pastel female for the past 9 months for less than half her value and no reasonable takers. It's really frustrating. And while I have enough food to feed everyone including new additions, she takes up my time, effort, housing, and rats feeding her. I really want her gone so I can free up her rack spot. And she's just a pain in my butt. Nice snake, but not one I personally like, which is why she's up for adoption. And it has been such a dragging experience trying to move her.

And I don't know what your situation is, but going by Meph's posts, it sounds like you have a lot of stuff going on right now. Maybe set your priorities and affairs straight first before adopting more animals. I've personally seen people who had too many things on their plate get easily overwhelmed with life that taking care of their animals became really difficult for them and was no longer enjoyable.

Actually since you are a veteran you get 15 per 12 month period and you have only used two. ;)
