I was just wondering if people liked cats or dogs better?
-
Dogs all the way. I've never seen a cat play frisbee :)
-
We have two dogs and a cat. I'm totally in love with my Maltese, Sam. We also have a shepherd who is awesome. My cat? Well I could just drop kick her sometimes, but I would never harm an animal.
-
tiny moving white specks?
Oh man...I have a cat and a dog and I love them both just as much. :D
-
I'm turned off to dogs basically because of their lack of clean. All of the breeds I actually like also smell bad. I like cats because they are so independent, and dogs are a lot of work. Of course this is coming from someone who also keeps a beardie, so who really knows why I don't like dogs as much.
-
I like cats better because they're more independent, cleaner, litter box trainable, less gassy, and better lap buddies. I like dogs better because they're more fun to wrestle, chase, or play games with and scarier to potential intruders. When I weigh that out, it comes down on the side of cats, but Buddha is still a great buddy to have.

Dogs...and horses. Cats are pretty dirty IMO. They have so much bacteria in their mouths, and then they lick themselves. They step where they go to the bathroom, and then you hold them and they put their feet on your face. Yum... Plus the majority of them are just plan NUTS. You try to hold them down to take blood or whatever and they pee on you or try to eat your face. Try to give them a bath and they try to eat your face again. But anyway... Dogs are cool for the fact that if you have a dog door, they will go outside and usually entertain themselves. And horses are just funny.

More of a dog person here, but still love the cats.

Dog's aren't a whole lot cleaner, and they lick them selves too. But I prefer the dog over the cat. I dont have to worry about my dog's getting on the table and counter tops like I do my cat's, but then again I dont have to listen to the cats BARKING everytime a vehicle drive by the house.

That's odd, my dogs dont stink. The only time I can remember any of my dogs stinking (other than thier breath) was on a hot day and after they took a swim in the pond.

Well, dog's mouths are a whole lot cleaner than ours. Some people in my class cultured their mouths and after about a day, some wonderful strep started to grow... And strep does not grow well in the lab. I'll be taking one of my dogs to school tomorrow so we can culture her mouth and one of my school's cat's mouths and see what fun stuff grows. Whee! :) We're so desperate for anything to do... It's sad. LoL

Pictures!!!!
I'm more of a dog person, but have both (you should have added a choice for 'both').....we have 3 dogs and they are just the best. I've had many, many, cats over the years, but we lost 2 over the past year (one was the coolest cat ever and the first real heartbreak over a pet loss), but now we're down to 2. Anyway, if I have to choose, it's dogs all the way.

Disappointing day
I like dogs better because you can train them to do tricks and cats just sit there lol, I like horses also, actually I love them lol.

Here's a pic of my big girl. Her name is Dixie and she's 14. She has her moments...

My Science project
Awww, I had a horse but I had to get rid of him because the people we were keeping him at got 3 more horses and kicked us out so we had to get rid of him.

I love dogs but have a cat as where I live this is all they allow.
My son has made the cat into a dog. Weird cat, that's for sure.
Me, I want a American Bulldog.
We should be moving by the first of the year and that will be the first move I make.
-
American Bulldogs are very kewl, high energy though so be prepared!
Beautiful horse, Becky. I used to ride when I was younger (dressage and/or English), I miss it so much. Would like to get back into it and get my 10yr old daughter involved as well.)....
-
I dig me dogs personally. I have a cat and a dog... Cat was a shelter case... currently he is 16 yrs old charcoal grey with white back paws and extremely personable though slightly senile (meows constantly late at night for no reason). My dog is a beautiful, intelligent, people loving mix of a German Shepard, Husky, and Black Lab. The greatest most loving dog in the world (ten years old) but sheds like nobody's business (my only complaint).
I hope to get a dog when I get my own place (Kodack-the above described dog, and Simon-the cat live at my parents house and are their pets). I am thinking a Boston Terrier or something .... I want a dog that is very personable, good with other pets and dogs and intelligent and that doesn't shed a whole lot or require tons of excersise. I think I love Boston Terriers but I'm open to any suggestions that I could research. :)
-
Sadly they are both food in my house, unless of course they can run really fast.
Ok that was bad, but I'm up way past my bedtime..lol
I love them both, I just don't have the room for either at the moment.
The only fuzzies that reside here are the internationaly known (ok maybe not internationaly) Rabbit named "Stewie", and the six crazy ferrets.
Thanks
Rusty

i was always a dog person until 2 years ago when this skinny little kitty followed me home one night when i was taking a walk. i really didn't like cats at all, but she was so skinny and so friendly unlike all of the other strays that run around my apt. complex that i just said, well if she follows me up all the stairs to my apt. (3 flights) then i'll give her something to eat. well she followed, and now, 2 years later, she rules the roost and i'm all cat person. i will admit though, she is not like most cats. she has a lot of dog-like characteristics--she greets me at the door when i come home, she plays fetch, and she loves attention from everyone at all times. one day when i have a house with a yard i will get a dog, but for now my kitty and i are happy as can be. :D

Mlededee - I had a tuxedo kitty too, and he would get excited when I came home, and if I went away for a weekend he'd get nervous and pull his hair out... then be super happy when I came home again, lol. :) He used to play fetch too, kinda. He was nervous around everyone accept me for a few years, but he came around and was super friendly and loved attention from anyone... I miss George... I want another tuxedo cat so bad :(
-
Lindsay, I had a cat who would play fetch too! She was a tabby, and I would throw mardi gras beads along the kitchen floor for her and she'd run right after them and bring them back. It was great! I've never known another cat like her.
-
I love kitty fetch :D We only have two cats now, a fat siamese and an ancient, skinny Maine coon... but you'd never know because they have to live in the laundry room because of the stupid jack russell... seriously guys, does anybody want a free dog? Please? I'll pay you fifty bucks to take him!! I'm begging you! Anybody!!!??!!?
-
I use to have a tiger stripe kitten that use to play fetch with the ring that breaks off from the lid of a milk jug. She would take turns taking it to different people in the living room. Would do this for hours on end.

My mom keeps horses, and after a few bad experiences, I'm done with them. I don't mind them, I just don't want one, nor do I ever want to take car of one again. My mom raises quarter horses and I believe at last count, she had 8 or 9.
I'd have to say I love dogs and cats equally. I miss my mom's akita's, but I just don't feel I'm really around long enough to give a dog all the attention it really needs. (especially considering the seperation anxiety they can have) I can't have a dog where I'm at anyway, I don't really have a yard. I'd say I don't miss the dog hair, but my cat sheds all over me :P Btw, even though an akita is a big hairy dog, which needs to be socialized properly (akita's make wonderful guard dogs), they don't really bark unless their's a problem you should know about. I loved having a dog that wouldn't bark at everything that moved.
However, a dog does not decide to lay down on top of your homework, (or bills or whatever) when you decide to do it! Nebula is great fun and all, but I'm still trying to break that habit of hers. At least when she sleeps on the bed, she's never tried to sleep on my face. She's gotten accidently smacked a few times becuase I didn't know she was there though. She is a very people person kitty. I brought her home from the animal shelter on the first day, and one of my friends came over to watch a movie. She decided she was going to go to sleep in his lap.

I guess I would say I'm a cat person; I am one of those independent, quiet, artistic types. My cat respects my need for quiet and never bothers me. BUT recently I started liking dogs a bit more, since my mom got two (golden retriever and g. shepherd.) They are really friendly. And my friend ha an awesome Doberman; if I get a dog someday, it'll hafta be one of those. I want something that will protect me.
I HATE untrained, overly excited dogs though. Ones that jump on you and drrool all over you, or worse, are just plain evil. My friend has a rescued dog (I will not mention the name; I do not like to give certain breeds an even worse reputation) that HATES people and has bitten me really bad. I could never own anything like that!
