For your posting pleasure ...
lol - those are great, Marla. Will you be adding those to our available "Smiles"?
-
They are there if you don't use the reply box at the bottom but use New Topic or Post Reply. I'll see about making them universally available through Quick Reply as well.

Hehe. Cool. We saw a lot of this on Sunday at Ozzfest: :headbang:

:butthead:
How was Ozzfest, Smynx? It's coming our way soon...this month I think, was thinking of checking it out...
-
Ozzfest is awesome! I highly recommend it to anyone. I had not originally planned on going with Smulkin and the boys, but I changed my mind at the last minute, and I am SO glad I did! We liked it so much in VA that we're going again in August in PA!
Black Sabbath was amazing! You would never know by listening that those guys are as old as they are. Ozzy puts on one hell of a show. Second stage bands like "Every Time I Die," "Lacuna Coil," "Devil Driver," and "Lamb of God" were so good they should have been on the main stage. Honorable mention goes to "Bleeding Through" for pumping up the crowd. I'm not much into "Slipknot," but they had the whole crowd moving. Not much of a "Slayer" fan either, but Smulkin is, and he seemed adequately impressed. I'm sure he'll throw his 2 cents in here.
But Caren, and anyone else who's considering going, get off the fence and buy your %#$@ing tickets!

It's coming to Tampa September 2nd, it's at the new amphitheatre so we'll probably just get lawn tix. Mark thinks Ozzy is God and we haven't been yet, so I guess I'll be getting the tickets, maybe I'll make it a surprise....thanks for the recommendation, Smynx.

You definitely should have gone, Jody! I'm so disappointed in you! We were at Nissan. It was so much fun.
Caren, you'll enjoy the lawn seats more than anything unless you can get right down in front in the pit. The lawn is a blast. My 14-year-old was shocked to see mosh pits form on the lawn during Judas Priest and Black Sabbath.
-
When given the opportunity, I always choose lawn b/c it's more fun, interact w/the other concert goers etc... (don't think I've ever lucked out and gotten first row to any concert I've attended...got close to Metallica once, 4th row, concert kicked butt, was many yrs. ago though!)
-
Hehe. Sounds like fun. But you're right, unless you're WAY up front the lawn is much more of a party.
By the way, I'd like to personally and publicly thank Marla for all the time she has put into restructuring and streamlining the forums. You rock, Marla!!

I second that!! Thanks Marla, don't know what we'd do w/out you!!
-
Yeah do go - can't reccomend it highly enough - just be prepared to spend a bit of cash on the essentials (water/beer/margaritas/pizza) once you're inside. If you like what you hea you can usually pick up a CD after a band plays near the FYE autograph tents for about $10, then hop in line, meet the band and get them to sign the CD or body-part of your choice.
I agree lawn is the sweet spot - you can't get comfy in the bulk of the seats available as they really cramp em in - and when you pass out it's better to hit the grass than slump over a row of seats.
Was glad it wasn't Ozzy's solo stuff but instead back to the Sabbath roots - insanely good. Slayer was phenomenal as well Lamb of God. Wound up misssing the entire Dimmu Borgir set (still regret the hell outta that). Lacuna Coil was pretty sweet - and always good to see femme vox.
DevilDriver's an act you'll definitely want to check out, muy muy tight!
OK thread derailed ;)
