How often does your BP use his hide?
Does anyone else here have a BP that doesn't use his hide?. Mine once in a while chills in it,usually after meals for a few hrs for a day or so then other words is never in it. Kocur seems to either be slithering around climbing and exploring for hours on end. When he does chill it's usually behind the the hide or in the plants or on top of the plants at the top of the tank or he will just lay chillin in the middle of the tank.

my humidity and hot side and mat are all regulated. Humidity 55-75 regularly and hot side 84-90 regularly.. He's eating and is strong is kicking ass man.

Mine are all in them right now. Right where they always are. Unless they are hungry. If yours is out roaming for hours, he is more than likely stressed. What is your set up like?

Same. He's always in a hide unless he's hungry or up at night.

Mine are always in their hide except for when they are hungry and when it's dark.

Mine are almost always in them except on some nights (not when shedding and not the day after eating), they have their heads, and sometimes a part of their body's out.

mine is always in the hide, sometimes for days on end. i move the hide every once in a while just to make sure shes still alive. she gets out for water or to switch hides but for the most part shes curled up in one of her hiding spots.

My little guy stays in his hide all day. About the time I come home from work, he comes out for a little while, then goes back in his hide. Starting at about 7 to 8 PM, he starts exploring. I'm not sure what he does after hubby and I go to bed, but often times, when I get up for work in the morning, he's either on top of his hide or exploring. When the sun comes up, ZIP! he's back in the hide and pretty much stays there during the daylight hours, maybe occasionally poking his nose out. He's active at night. :)

Oh, unless he's just been fed. Then he just flat stays in his hide for at least 24 hours no matter what time of day it is.

Hide on the warm side, temp on warm side is about 85-90,humidity averages like 60-65,water bowl on the cool side. ,he is eating wih no problems what so ever... He will come out round 7 and roam for a few hours climbing everything..I just got home and he was sleeping again in the plants. I walked up to the tank he just saw me and now is out,so idk man,I'm wondering if he is hungry and know I feed him..cause he came out tonight when I came home as well....also,every time I walk in he's usually relaxing, seems like when he sees I'm home he comes out.

The only time I catch them out during the day is when I'm about to feed or they're moving between hides. Otherwise, about 98% of the time, they're in their hides whenever I check on them. At night they're much more active, but that's because they're nocturnal.

Re: How often does your BP use his hide?
Mine didn't use her hide for about the first two weeks I had her. She still ate well during this time, so I think she was acclimating herself and trying to fogure out where she felt most comfortable and secure.

Now, she alternates between her warm and cool hides. She's out and about some at night, and I will see her drinking water occasionally during this time.

Mostly, though, she does what ball pythons do best.

I also have my BP for only 2 1/2 weeks now

Kind of what sounds like mine. I been up for 2 1/2 hrs now and I haven't seen him one yet. During the week idk what he does. I'm at work usually for 11-12 hr days,6am-6pm or so...usually comes out at night and when I get home.

    thnx for the input everyone

All of mine are in tubs in an enclosed rack:
3 do not use hides and don't have them anymore
3 are always in their hides
2 prefer to hangout behind their hides and occasionally use them properly.

Only two really roam around during daylight. The rest leave tracks in their aspen that show they've been out in the dark.
