    Pirate Themed Air-plant Terrarium
Finally watching the Pirates of the Caribbean series, and so feeling particularly...pirate-y. I work in a store that makes and sells terrariums, and this is my first one, so I got to take it home. :) I found the treasure chest at a garage sale and stuck it in there. Now the 'Kraken' can guard the chest.

    Enjoy. :)

How cute! I love tillandsias! I made a little display for mine with jars and a picture frame. I have trouble keeping the grassy, thin ones alive. I'm great with medusas though!
    Cool terrarium!

    Cool terrarium!

The trick to the grassy, thin-leafed varieties alive is soaking! I soak mine twice a week, about an hour at a time. :)

I do the soaks, but not for an hour. I'll give it a shot! Thanks!

Just make sure you shake them out thoroughly afterwards and let them dry upside down. :) Also they're sensitive to chlorine, so boil your water or let it sit out first. :D

Edit: On, and trim dead ends! (But do it before you hydrate!)

No problem! :D It's my job to work with them and care for them, so I've done my research.

Here are some of my Tillys:

    Nice!
I'll have to take a picture of my little display when it's light. I love unusual plants! There is supposed to be a plant vendor that sells at some repticons, but he doesn't come to the one near me. He sells lots of cool carnivorous plants! There is a local shop that sells some different things called Sunshine Bonsais. I always think I'm going to find Audrey II when I go in there. ;)
