    Is this normal???
Alright since no one on FB seems to know.. Bo is kind of lumpy, he has about 3 lumps on him and he ate a larger rat a few days ago, nothing abnormally large though

here is a picture, you cant really see all 3 too well due to the angle but there are serious lumps

If its a new development, definitely vet. Could be anything from cysts to tumors, and they can spread like wildfire. Vet, vet, vet.

Vet is out of the question due to work schedules for a while, he is acting fine though, was cruising around like crazy this morning per his usual routine.

He kind of looked uncomfortable last night, then farted, a good one. Could it be gas?

As everyone else has stated, you need to take him to a vet. Gas will not cause localized lumps like that. There are several reasons lumps like this will form, and each reason is a reason to see a vet: parasites, malignant tumors, and cysts all create lumps like this.

The good news here is that this is not, generally speaking, a dire emergency. If your work schedule will not allow you to take him to the vet within the next week or so, he should still be ok (assuming he continues to act normally). Just get him in as soon as you are able. And I would personally feed him smaller sized prey until the vet makes a diagnosis so that his system is not overloaded in the meantime. If your work schedule is going to be a problem for longer than that, however, I would try to see if someone else, a friend or relative, can take him in for you.

Good luck and keep us posted!

Boy I've never seen that. I'd be headed to the vet. Let us know what vet says.

I think it was gas and a large poop. He farted and now he isnt lumpy but he does look like he is brewing a big poop. He hasnt pooped in a little while so I think it might be a double sized poop in there with his larger rat meal he had that made him look that way.

Idk how he would get any parasites either, we breed our own feeders and all have been wormed...?

Snakes can get worms from their environment as babies or mites can transmit them too. The worms (pin worms are most common) set up shop and can cause localized cysts like this later in the snake's life. But that does not mean that parasites are the cause here. No one said that is for sure - it was only mentioned as a possible cause. Frankly, not trying to scare you, but cancer would be my first guess and in a reptile, that can progress very quickly.

I will say again, gas will NOT cause these lumps!! It is very possible that your snake had a load of poo that was pushing these lumps out so they would be more visible and once the snake passed his bowel movement, the lumps then recede and you can't see them as readily. But the gas would not cause them to be there, it would only possibly make them more visible. If gas could cause this, every person here would have seen these sorts of lumps in one or more of their own snakes. All snakes poo after all.... :D

You have been given SOUND advice from every poster in this thread. Please take that into consideration and take your snake to the vet. We do not just randomly say "go to the vet" and I understand fully not wanting to make the trip unnecessarily, but there are times when that trip is absolutely necessary. This is one of those times. :gj:
