    Bothrops asper
Finally got two of my favourite snakes, Bothrops asper - tercipelo.

These guys have quite an attitude...from the female alone, I had about 70+ strikes in a few minutes as I tried to get a picture :) got to love cranky snakes.

They're only little at the moment, 7 inches or so.

Very nice. The lance heads are all awesome!! My buddy has some that I've had a chance to work with and I can't believe how fast they are. Even as babies they are a handful.

Very nice, and I wish I wanted to fully deal with venomous, those are one species I'd love to have. Maybe someday.

Thanks, the male is still to 'clean up' a bit, i assume he's had one less shed than the female.

Lanceheads, Rattlers and Bushmasters are my favourites. Oh yeah, they're very quick indeed, definitely the fastest vipers around and probably just as fast as most elapids.

The not backing down is the reason I'd get bit. I don't care about being bit by a snake, though with venomous this would present a major problem. As a kid I used to catch copperheads and cottonmouths to sell to a friend who ran a pet store. I also found it much easier to catch them bare hands which I wouldn't do now because I think logical, but as a kid I did it. I was only bitten once and it was by a copperhead and it was due to another Copperhead about two feet from where the one I was planning to catch was at. So when I went down to catch it the other one popped out from by the brushes and tagged me above my elbow.

...lol. Yeah, with any Bothrops sp if you grab them with your hands especially asper you're going to get hit 100%.

These are known to also 'chase' you :) Love them.

They have the best faces of any snake in my opinion, well, with rattlesnakes :). They just look like they want to end your life haha.

Very nice photos. Bothrops is one genus, which I do not think that I can handle though :).

Not a lot lol. It's just amazing to keep such incredible snakes. I don't have a need to walk round my house holding a snake round my neck etc.

It's not really for show, as only 1 person has ever seen my snakes in the flesh. It's for myself, I adore these animals. And no other snakes come close to them, you can't compare a corn snake to a viper/pit viper or a cobra - in my opinion, it's like comparing a Ford to a Ferrari.

Haha, they are not for everyone that's for sure :).

Some of the smaller ones aren't so bad, like venezeulensis. They're much calmer.
