    Best 3 gene male?
By the end of the year, I will be acquiring three more normal females and I want to buy a three gene male for next year's breeding season.
I will have a male lesser and pastel in my collection, so I'd prefer to stay away from those(but don't necessarily omit them).
What three-gene male would you consider to be a good investment for someone starting out?

Butter Enchi Spiders are pretty, and so are butter flys. I remember calling in love with calico bumblebees, but I never see them for sale.

A firefly yellow belly! The fire and yellow belly gene are cleaners so everything that comes out should be super clean, and both the fire and yellow belly have super forms producing a white snake. Super fire (black eyed lucy) and the Ivory.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe a Super Vanilla Fire is possible.

I'd have to say, within a reasonable budget any of the following genes combined:

    Enchi
    Yellow belly
    Fire
    Spotnose
    Black pastel
    Vanilla
    Mojave

Depending on your budget, a nice 3 gene Orange dream Male would be awesome...

Try to think of individual morphs that you really like. Think of holdback potential since you'll only be using normal females. Good luck! :)

Since you're pairing primarily with normal females, I would suggest an ivory (super yellow belly), super fire, super pastel, etc. plus another gene like mohave.

Alternatively you could go with a visual recessive + another gene, such as a pastel pied, so the clutches would at least all be het pied, het hypo, etc. Of course your problem there is that it's hard to sell hets if you have no reputation.

I personally like the Firefly Yellowbelly. It is one beautiful morph that has about everything look wise that you could want. Just my opinion. Good luck!

I would say the best three gene male to start with would be Black Axanthic Clown Pied

no but seriously: any combination of these genes would be amazing: enchi, fire, calico/sugar, yellow belly - I guess your budget is limited so you can't add a recessive in there

I second fire enchi yellow belly. And I also agree it almost impossible to find. I'm making payment on this boy and he should be in my hands very very soon :D http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/09/13/eru3azeg.jpg

I'm confused. Why isn't it possible? Isn't that just a super vanilla cream? Or are you just saying that it isn't three different genes?

Since vanilla and fire are allelic, and you can only stack two genes on the same location on the dna strand, it's not possible to make a super vanilla fire.

You also cannot make a super fire vanilla, super specter yellowbelly, or a super lesser mojave.

Since you are looking to breed him to normal females I think it Would be smart to get a super form of something. I'm pairing my sterling male (super pastel Cinny) to 2 normals this season

Budget wise it would most likey be super pastel something.
    Either a:
    Killer bee
    killerblast
super pastel leopard! (expensive but incredible)
    Sterling
    Super pastel yellowbelly
    Pastel mystic potion
    vanilla scream

Thia is the stuff I like

Yeah we need a budget from you to be realistic.

Otherwise I'd say go with a GHI Clown annnnd make it Scaleless with that! :rolleye2:

Since you are using normal females, I am going with you're just getting your footing in breeding, and have a smaller budget. (I could very well be wrong, as this is only an assumption to provide a reference for budget range, and is in no way intended to be offensive or anything, if it can be taken that way.)

Since you are starting out, I imagine you will want to hold back something spectacular from your first few breedings (preferably females) for your own breeding stock, so I would first and foremost suggest picking genes you like to work with. Since you're looking for suggestions, if it were up to me, I would choose two color morphs and a pattern morph (either spider or pin, however, spider has inherent problems, so I would choose pin). The color morphs I would pick--based all on budget, preference, and what you currently have as breeding stock--would be mojave and cinnamon (savannah). Holding back a female mojave and breeding it to your lesser would yield BELs; holding back a female cinnamon bred to your pastel would yield Pewters. Pinstripe or spider would be a bonus.

The only problem with this is I don't know if a savannah pin has been made yet, and I can't find anything on a savannah spider, either. So alternatively, using a cinnamon x mojave x pastel would give you the chance to make super pastels in the future as well.

    Re: Best 3 gene male?
Thank you for all of the responses, I haven't checked this in a while so sorry about that xD I've picked up another massive female for this season(hopefully a couple more will follow within the next couple of months)
My budget would be around 1,500 max. I would really like something with spider in it or anything with a reduced pattern, other than that I prefer color morphs over pattern morphs. Any creamy, tan, or beige morph gets really excited about the animal. I am just getting into breeding and I'm more so interested in fiddling around and acquiring base morphs that I don't have yet rather than what's popular or worth a lot of money.
