    Which mystic?
I have three female mystics I'm looking at and I'd like opinions on which one to go with. I want to get a male mojo and make potions. These are in no particular order and aren't mine.

    Option 1, 2012 323g $600.

    Option 2, 2012 poss het caramel, 540g, $650

Option 3, 2013 het ghost, just had first shed, $650

Im leaning toward the largest one. I like the pattern and fading on the first, but the second has the size and is a possible het. The third has really nice contrast, but seems really high as far as price for a baby that young.
What do you guys think? What are the pros and cons for each?

I would definitely get the last one if it's from a reputable breeder that you trust. Be patient and pair her up with your ghost boy in 2-3 years. The price definitely seems worth it for the guaranteed het hypo.

Wonder what a Hypo Super Mystic looks like.....

The thing is I'm not crazy about the mystic ghosts. And I'm planning on breeding potions, so she wouldn't be available for him for four or five years. In that time I could get a het combo I do like. So the het hypo isn't really a plus for me.

    Then go with number 2.

Which one is the best example of a mystic and are the prices being asked fair for the snakes in question?

    I'd say #2 or 3.

Is the third one really higher quality enough to cost the same as a 500g and make it worth the extra year before she can breed? If I'm getting a much higher quality, then I'm ok with it, but if she's just going to fade out and look like the others, then it's not worth it.

I need to put a deposit down on one of them today and this will be my first mystic, which is why I'm trying to get input from people who have experience with them.

I like the first ones pattern BUT she is kind of small for a 12 don't you guys think? Number 2 is an okay weight for the year (not the greatest) and has a nice pattern and price. Number 3 seems like the best option IF you want to make ghosts which you said you did not. I would go with 3 to keep ghost in my back pocket for later but if you are dead set on no ghost 2 is best option.

Thanks, guys. Is 540 really that light for a late '12? I have six late '12s and they all eat every week pretty much like clockwork and none of them are over that weight.

I made 1 12 purchase and he is around 700 grams. I suppose it depends on when in 2012. Remember it is the end of 2013 now. It could be a late 12 which is why I said 540 is an okay weight but that first one must be a picky eater to be so light.

The second is a late '12. The reason I ask is because I have a 12 who's 600g and is a picky eater and I've got three 12s who are under 550 and aren't picky and eat a small-med rat every week. They're all late 12s, though.

Actually it's perfectly within range and weight is actually not the only thing one should look at (weight is a number) to me what is important is looking at the proportions and this animal actually looks good and not too small.

Sure you could have a 1300 grams 2012 too (I know I have one and she is not early 2012 either) but because some animals are bigger than others does not mean this one is too small either.

As for the original question I actually like the pattern of n#1 the best (can't judge #3 since I can't see much of it)

Completely agree here. Obviously have no experience with mystics, but from a purely aesthetic standpoint, #1's pattern is nicest, imho.
