Lily the Purple Tiger retic with a wonky face

If any of you are on the big retic facebook group you'll already know Lily. She is my only retic and so I spend a lot of time taking her picture and hanging out with her. She's a 2012 girl, only about 4.5ft despite being a full mainland and people saying she should be 8ft+ by now but I disagree with how some people feed their retics. She is growing slowly and steadily, took her first small rat the other day very gently lol.

As the title says she has a wonky face. There's a few pictures below which shows this. Her eyes often don't point in the same direction, she has a bent jaw line on one side, a tongue which is bent 90 degrees down in the middle, and a kinked tail right at the end and a bit further up which never shows in photos. Not sure if these deformities are genetic or to do with incubation temperatures. Her brother has a bent tongue but everything else is fine, including his typical retic attitude lol. I would presume if it was genetic the breeder wouldn't have bred the parents in the first place. So I'm in a bit of a muddle as to whether I should breed her in the future or not.

She is such a sweetie, never shown any aggression, very curious and often falls asleep on my desk behind or on the TV.

I hope you all like her as much as I do :) She's a great character and just very lovely to be around.

She's adorable, and I know a girl who has one that has a kinked tongue as well so he/she was given the name Kink.

My mainland retic female (ST) is about 5' and she's a 2012 too: she may be small for her age but I also don't feed as heavily as some do. Also she's a turd and likes to smoosh her nose in her cage sometime and healing time sets her back on eating. She's also very sweet tempered too like your girl.

I used to work in a reptile shop and she got brought back along with her brother I think (could be wrong) by a customer who swapped them for a bigger female or something. So I used to see her a lot and noticed her strange face. My boss never noticed it before and thought it might be mites behind her eye or stuck shed etc, but it's neither of those. She just has a weird face lol.

Have to say,she looks anorexic! My 3/3.5 ft girls eat small mediums every 4 days. They digest very quickly too.

I'm feeding her as directed by long time keepers of retics who grow them slowly not fast like most people do. She gets a good sized rat each week which does her fine.

Slow growing is always the best. Feeding too much too fast WILL cause serious health issues and power feeding to me is just selfish and not in the best interest of the animal.

She is just precious and huggable! Those little idiosyncrasies make each one unique and a joy to keep.

I agree with Willie, if ever a snake could be adorable in my eyes, Lily takes the cake.
