    2013/2014 Breeding Projects?
I know some of you will wait to tell us what you're working on until the spring. But for those of you in the same boat as me, what are the projects you are most excited for this season?

    Mine are:

-Super Pastel Axanthics (Pastel het. Axanthic X Pastel het. axanthic)
    -Vanilla Creams (Vanilla x Pastel)
    -Pewters (Cinnamon X Pastel)
    -Lesser Bees (Lesser X Spider)
-Enchi Albino ??? (Enchi het. Albino X ??? het. Albino) - My only secret because it will be a WOBP first if I hit the three genes.

Those are my exciting projects (at least I am excited about them)

    How about you guys?

Myself and sugar shane are doing a two (possibly three) joint projects:

    My albino X his pied
My het pied x his pied
possibly my pastel yb x his yb (May try for pastel ivories again. Got 2 ivories, a pastel yb and a yb from a 4 egg clutch last season)

    My Own projects:

enchi X lesser (if my lesser gets up to size..this will be her second winter but she may wait til next year if she doesn't get to 1500g)
black pewter x Pastel (going for a silver streak again)
    mojave x mojave
    enchi x normal
    Still debating the others

This will be the first for me. The kiddos and I are going to document (for school) the following:

    Emp Pin x Pastel

It should be a fun time for us. :D

The only BP female I have that's old and large enough to go this year is a normal. Fortunately my citrus pastel ivory male is ready for her. Otherwise I have 1.1 BRB's who I'll be pairing.

I think the two that I'm most excited about are my lesser Pied male to a cinnapin and a spider 66% het pied.

When my girls get big I want to do this:

    bumblebee x blast
    spider x enchi
black pastel just won't have a partner unless I can get something nice for a decent price because if I get a Mojave she's getting shipped to a friend to hook up to a lesser/butter so I can try to hit a BEL.

Since we decided to start this up I have dragged the kids to an expo at least once a month now. They are having a tremendous blast! Funny, last one we attended, just walking the aisles, my 11 year old compliments one of the breeders on a really good looking pied on display. I turned around and asked him "what did you say", concerned that maybe my child spoke out of turn and he told me that pied looks freaking awesome!.. LMAO.

If we are successful and get to see some scale kids pip, the boys have a pretty long grocery list for 14'-15'. We'll see how things go. ;)

My kids have been going to a lot of shows with me over the last couple years and it is fun how they get into it. About two months ago my 8 year old saw a spinner that he loved and kept asking about. After about an hour a said if you can get them to take $200 for it we can get it. Thinking there was no way they would. About 5 minutes later he came back with a huge smile on his face saying that they would take it. Now we have a little spinner girl that I didn't really plan on. But you can always use another nice looking girl. And more importantly I love that he is getting into it and now has one that is "his".

Probably nothing this season. But, if I do, it will be Pied 50% PH Albino x Pied 25% PH Albino and/or that male Pied 25% PH x visual Albino.

Well.... not too early to think about it and I have already tentatively put my pairings on paper and dropped temps last week 2F. Paired 5 couples yesterday with one lock already. The plans might change a bit, but not by much.

0.2 Fire 100% Het Clown will be seeing a 1.0 100% Butter Het Clown to try for the first Nuclear Clown with a 1.0 Pastel 100% Het Clown as a back-up for either.
    0.1 Clown to a 1.0 Banana
0.1 100% Het Clown will see my 1.0 Butter Het Clown or 1.0 Clown

0.2 Pieds... 1.0 Black Pastel 100% Het Pied and 1.0 100% Lesser Het Pied (possibly a 1.0 Pastel 100% Het Pied if he gets enough size). 1.0 Pied "Holmes" is always on back-up!!

0.3 Albinos.... 1.0 Pinstripe Albino and 1.0 Spider Albino (possibly a 1.0 Enchi Albino if he put some size on)

    0.2 Champagnes.... 1.0 Enchi Fire

    0.3 Spiders.... 1.0 Banana, 1.0 Nuclear

    0.3 Pinstripes.... 1.0 Banana, 1.0 Nuclear

0.5 Pastels.... 1.0 Banana, 1.0 Enchi Fire, 1.0 Enchi Pastel, 1.0 Sugar Fire

0.1 Super Pastel.... 1.0 Sugar Fire

    0.1 LemonBlast.... 1.0 Banana

    0.1 Enchi..... 1.0 Banana

0.1 Butter.... 1.0 Mojave- already locked yesterday.

I have been pairing for a couple of weeks now, but I'm shooting for bumblebees, albinos (trying to prove one out), and have a het pied female whom I'm going to pair up to my Mojave male PH pied to try to prove him out if he gets big enough.

This will be my first year for breeding any of my co-dom females so nothing real exciting for any veteran breeders. But very exciting for me. All the females are being cycled with 2 males. I don't really care who gets the job done, I want some of combos off of every one of them.( 0.1 Mojave x Butter / Mystic) (0.1 Albino x Het. Albino / Pinstripe) (0.1 Pastel x Butter / Fire) (0.1 Pastel x Pinstripe / Super Pastel). I have seen locks from all the males except the Mystic and the Fire the 2 that I had hoped would go the most. I have 3 more females ( 2 Mojave and a Black Pastel ) that I hope will get to size a little later in the season right now they are all sitting around 1200 grams. I want to put my Butter with the Black Pastel if she makes it this year, but if not next year for sure. Best of luck to everyone this season.

I have also been thinking of putting a spinner blast to a enchi lesser!!
  • 09-13-2013, 02:55 AM
    Badgemash
Killerbee het axanthic x Pastel Axanthic (c'mon axanthic killerbees and super pastels!)

Killerbee het axanthic x Axanthic (same pairing that produced my female axanthic bee this year)

If the butter hypo is up to size he will also be paired with the plain axanthic with hopes of a couple double hets.
  • 09-13-2013, 09:19 AM
    Joshua Jasper
    1. TSK Axanthic X Leopard & Spider 100% Het Axanthic
    2. Firefly X Banana Spider & Leopard
    3. Lesser Blackback X Banana Spider & Pewter Blackback
    4. Orange Ghost X Stinging Bumblebee PHOG
    5. Pastel X Banana Spider & Stinging Bumblebee PHOG
    6. Spider X Leopard & Pewter Blackback
    7. Ivory Jungle Woma X Puma
    8. Pinstripe X Banana Spider & Leopard
    9. Killer Humblebee X Clown
    10. Black Pastel X Undecided on this one.....

I think that's all, a few of those girls are dependent on size but they are garbage pits so I think they will be ready. It'll be a busy season here :-)

I'm planning on a big year! I know it's risky, but I'm going to shoot for Super Black Pastels. I've got 2 unrelated lines: Male Hypo Black Pastel from Gulf Coast Reptiles, and female Ian G line Black Pastel from Pacific Coast Reptiles. Also got a lot of Sulfur, Calico, and Spotnose stuff going on.

I'm still debating if I'm even ready to breed or not... I have a female that might be ready this season, and will be buying a second who should be ready this season. Just deciding if I am or not... lately I'm leaning toward "Just jump on in with both feet!"

    If I do go ahead...
I would breed my orange ghost to my honeybee, if my og is ready. I would be excited merely for the reason this is my first clutch!!!

The girl I'm getting is a citrus pastel yellowbelly. I have an opportunity to buy a specter with her, and could breed them to get super stripes. I REALLY like the superstripes... the big question for me is whether I should be spending all that money on snakes right now or not... :/
If I do... I'll be more excited about this possible clutch than the first, and hoping for that super stripe.

Has anyone tried nuclear x nuclear? I'm not a breeder so I won't be trying for them but has anyone else? I'd like to see the results, you could get an interesting mix, I'm most interested in fire super butters, butter super fires, and super nuclear (I'm pretty sure no ones ever bred those morphs before). I think it would be an interesting experience and I'd like know the results.

Let me know who you all think I should put with the WD boy or if I

For me I am going to lean towards alot of Banana gene morphs for the 2014 year. It is hard to say what else I will acquire before 2014 season so most of it is still up in the air.

    2014
Banana x Pied ( Main Project)
    Banana x Axanthic
Banana x Cinnamon ( Need to find a breeder girl after this season)
    Banana x Black Pastel
    Banana x Pastel

After an 8 year break I just got back into Ball Pythons this year. I was lucky to buy a small collection with some big morph girls. This years will be mostly Pied Project.

    2013
    Pied X Pastel
    Pied X Albino
    Pied X Black Pastel
    Pied X Het Pied
    Pinstripe X Pastel
