    Big girls....caging options?
Hey just looking for some info and opinions...

I have my two big girls (dinkers) in a split T8 from Animal Plastics.....both are starting to just be really cramped looking when they are out and about...

Looking for new caging options....I dont think each one needs its own T8 (2x4x1)....but wondering if anyone has any info on good quality that are maybe like 2x3x1? or something slightly smaller then a full T8?....

kind of wanting to give something other than AP a try and seeing as how I know nothing about any of the other reptile tank companies out there...hoping ya'll could help? Thanks

You could build your own enclosure to what ever specifications that you would like and you could customize it in any way

Honestly, I'd say go for another T8, if not that then maybe convert to racks? They pay off in the long run.

I have a male in a 3x2x18" and I honesty feel it would be too cramped if I was to put my 2300g girl in there. Once I fix up the boaphiles, she's going in there.

If you need help building a 41-qt melamine rack let me know, the hubby has made several and can knock one out in about half a day by himself, less if he has a helper.

For the price I would stick with another T8, I have my little guy in a vision cage right now and love it, but the $300+ price tag for a larger vision cage when he is grown is making me lean towards the T8 myself.

Yeah our biggest girl is over 1800 gr and there's plenty of room for her plus hide and water bowl in a 41 qt tub.

I'm not a melamine fan, i know there are people that love it, but its too heavy for my liking.

Heavy as in just the physical weight of it?

Yes, compared to the PVC cages. I have also had bad luck with moisture causing seperation of it, not sure how common that is though.

You can pick up a 5 tier 41q rack second hand like animal plastics or something like that for $150. I keep girls twice that size in 41q tubs.

Yeah, I'd just purchase a 41 QT rack, or build one yourself.

Our subsaharan girl is in a 74QT standalone tub though and she makes it look small, thinking once I get her weight back on (laid last year and wouldnt touch anything but ASFs) she should be 4.2k grams.

I can carry a 4' Boaphile by myself.
I doubt I could easily carry a melamine cage of that size.
