New New Arrivals
Just picked up two more adult BCI boas today.
The smaller one is 16lbs and the larger one is 17.48lbs.
Both females, both gorgeous, both thought to be gravid. Very tight in their rear area and very plump.

I'm setting up a 400g acrylic aquarium right now to house them until I get my new 8'x6'x3' 3 tier enclosure. My 3 large females will go in there, and my other enclosure I'm building will house my males, and then small glass tanks for all the babies until even more enclosures are built.

New New Arrivals
Picture time! Ok ok they aren't great, but today I will take them outside and snap some better pictures.
These pics were taken at 2am after I got their enclosure setup. They are on newspaper for now until I pick up some actual bedding today. I have a 7.5cu/ft bail of shavings, but found out at 1:45am that it was pine and fir when it was supposed to be aspen. The smell gave it away when I opened it. Oh well.
So anyhow, here are some terrible pics of the new arrivals...

Haaha! I've been gone all day! LoL! I agree - that is a kick butt enclosure. Where ever did you find that? Or did you make it? If you made it, please post how - might want to make me one. Or two. Or more.
Nice snakes too! :gj:

Lol the enclosure is a Tenecor(recently went out of business) 400g acrylic aquarium turned on its side. I used cinder blocks as a stand because the custom metal stand is made for the tank sitting vertically. The tank retails for $6800.
Really the tank is for my 2 ref tail catfish and 1 pacu. Both cats are about 20lbs and over 2.5'. But the snakes popped up unexpectedly on a recent trip to the Serpentarium(much like my last two adult BCI's) so I made haste and set it up quickly.
It has 3 sections of 11" flexwatt, a dimmer with temps being closely monitored, my ambients in my house only typically change 1-2° and acrylic doesn't allow much heat transfer especially at 1" thick.
Still making new enclosures for all my snakes, and looking at a custom enclosure that will save me a ton of time. These enclosures are currently housing 3 Burms ranging from 12'-16' so it will be plenty big enough.

What type of lid are you making for your tank. I'am just curious,as I have a75 gal tank I plan to use for snake keeping, and was looking for ideas. You have a vert nice setup.

I made the lid/door out of 5/8" particle board painted with Rustoleum Painters touch Latex paint, and the viewing window is made of 1/2" thick bullet resistant(not proof lol) Lexan an the window is affixed on the inside using 12 screws with an overlap of 1.5".
The whole thing is held on using two 600lbs test ratchet straps.

Lol ya I'm trying to get up and running. My total is 7 snakes now. Three adult female BCI's, one adult male BCI, one baby BCI male, one baby BCI female, and one baby normal ball female.
We also have 3 breeder colonies of mice 3:1 and starting rabbits soon. Gotta do rats as well

Re: New New Arrivals
Is that a cement mixing pan you're using for water? I saw those at Home Depot and my first thought was they would make an awesome snake hide and water container for my BCI's when they grow up.

All my big girls don't know what to think at first but end up really liking them. Mainly because they have always been on rats so its new, but once they find out its food they are quick to strike.

Thank you Neal. This weekend I'd like to see if I can get someone over here that is capable of solo handling one(even tho you aren't supposed to), while I grab the other and take them out to the backyard on the grass and get some photos in the sun.
My wife would do it but I don't trust or like her trying and would never ask. I solo these gals but to me they aren't "that" big.
