So I decided I needed some Cherry in the collection..... (DUW)
Just got a pretty spectacular package from my good friend, Star!! She collaborated with another friend to do a breeding between a Cherry Pastel male and an Orange Tail Hypo Jungle female. Once I saw the litter, I decide this was a project worth jumping into with both feet so these 3 little beauties came home with me. Trey Stowell was the first to work with the Cherry Pastels and a year or so ago, he took the Cherry Pastel out of the salmon hypo line and put it to the OT hypo line and I think that was an outstanding move - the colors are much more vibrant and this is only the 2nd litter to have made an appearance in the OT line.
A big shout-out to Star's Snakes for letting me lay claim to 3 of the best babies out of that litter! And if anyone is looking for an outstanding quality boa - especially BCC - Star is fantastic and is extraordinarily conscientious and just a pleasure to work with!
Without further ado....
This is Henna. She is a Cherry pastel Jungle female.

This is Dante, a Cherry hypo male who is possibly a low expression jungle. Anyone who is exceptionally experienced with the jungle gene can weigh in on this debate - may not be certain until he's bred to a normal and produces some jungles, lol.

Look at that color!!

And this is another female - a Cherry pastel Normal. Check out the PINK in this girl. She is just saturated in color and looks a LOT like the father of the litter did when he was born. She has been aptly named Sangria...

This picture REALLY is her true coloration - she really is that pink, even more so!

And this is picture of the father of the litter - a Cherry Pastel NORMAL male. Keep in mind, he is NOT a hypo!!

These babies are getting way more pink. All of these pictures were taken by Star and posted with permission. They were all taken about 4-6 weeks ago. Now that they have arrived here, they are just that much more colorful. I will get updated pictures once they settle in. But in the meantime, enjoy the pictures and thanks for looking!! :D

Wow, beautiful pickup Evenstars. Congrats
-
Full stripe jungle alone is nice - adding the Cherry pastel (line breed of hypo I'm guessing?) is just wicked nice. Great pick ups all around Kali, and congrats on getting in on new frontiers :gj:

Actually, not quite. The Cherry is a specific line of Pastel - not hypo. Of the 3 above, all are Cherry Pastels, but only the male is also a hypo. :gj:
Thanks all! :D

I'm totally in love with Henna. Absolutely gorgeous! !
-
Those babies are fantastic :D Does Star have a website?
And I do see jungle in Dante, but that's just me.
-
Amazing!
Will they keep their colors into adulthood? If not what are they expected to look like as they mature?
-
Re: So I decided I needed some Cherry in the collection..... (DUW)
Well look at you!! I went out of town for 2 days and this is what happens LOL!
I love it.
The Boa Queen strikes again!

Holy crap that is a set of stunning snakes.
You are making me regret only ordering 48 feet of steel for a double 4x2 and electronic control rack.
If those were available here I'd be all over them.
I can only imagine the results you will get when mixed with other genes.
Every bit as drool worthy as the IMG`s I just recently found out Peter Kahl is working with.

No, she doesn't have a website. But you can find her on Facebook - just look up Star's Snakes. She is a very small hobby breeder so she doesn't have babies all the time, but when she does, wowww.
I was hoping someone might see jungle in him! I thought so, but not sure enough. And the pics I posted here don't show the real markers I can see in person. So there's hope! I don't really care if he's not (I didn't buy him as one as Star wasn't sure either) - but it would be a big bonus if he is!

The last picture I posted is the father of the litter. He is a normal Cherry pastel. Sangria is one too and she should look like him as an adult. The 1st litter of Cherries that was born last year still has a lot of baby colors, so their true maturity colors aren't known at this point. And this 2nd litter was the first to introduce the jungle gene. Considering the father, we are expecting very RED adults. The Cherry pastel tends to GAIN color as the snakes mature rather than loose it. So the adults are extremely colorful. :gj:
Thanks very much everyone!! I am extremely pleased with this group! ;)

Awesome additions, congrats. The cherry line is my favorite, they have some intense colour and star produces amazing snakes. I hope to add cherry to my collection next year.
BTW, I would vote jungle on the second one.

Thanks jben! Alex (the friend Star collaborated with on this litter) is repeating this particular pairing this next season! PM me if you'd like his contact info. He has an outstanding Summit pastel male that he's putting to a gorgeous jungle female that I am on the list for too.... :D

Thanks for the heads up evenstar. Actually, I know Alex for a few years (never met in person) and he has an amazing collection. Although we haven't spoken in a while I do follow his once in a blue post on another forum. Again, thanks for the heads up.

WOW Henna is amazing! SO pink!

Holy cow that dad is a STUNNER! If I remember right, I've seen his photo before. The most beautiful "normal" I have ever seen. I've been trying to keep away from adding boas to my collection and focus on BPs....but I don't think I could pass up a baby that would look like dad!
-
that first picture... :eyepoppin that is the sickest pattern ever. excited to see how these grow up. smokin pick ups.

The first picture is a Cherry pastel Jungle. The second is a Cherry pastel Hypo possible low expression jungle. The third baby is a Cherry pastel normal.
They do keep their colors - very much so. They get even redder as adults. This is the first litter that has introduced the jungle gene, so it will be very interesting to see how the Cherry coloration interacts with the colors that the jungle puts out. :gj:

Yes, you have seen his picture once or twice! I used him as an example in, I think, 2 different threads. ;)
Thank you everyone very very much! Your comments are most appreciated! :)
