If you were going to start a recessive project today, what would be your morph of choice and why?

    Thanks,
    Eric

I haven't gotten into any recessive projects yet :O

But these are the ones I'm aiming for in the next few years:

Desert Ghost - Because I love the fact that they lighten/brighten and get better with age. I'm tired of beautiful babies turning into drab adults. I want ADULT bps that are spectacular!

Clown - Because it's my favorite pattern morph ever :wuv:

Hypo - Love the purples that hypo brings out

Maaaybbee Axanthic one day, possibly Black Axanthic if that ends up anywhere near what I'm hoping for pigment wise.

Edit: Eric, you didn't put DG on the list :P

    Ultramel FTW !!!!

So much can be the done with this gene. I like to have variety. Plus I have not come across a combo of it that did not look amazing.

I'd say Ghost but I don't tinker around with all the het stuff.

A purposeful omission. :) I contemplated a poll with every currently available recessive listed, but I decided to KISS it and list the most common few (IMO) and throw in the "other" option to generate discussion. It worked! ;)

FWIW, I don't have any recessives yet either. This poll may have an ulterior motive for me in the relatively near future. :D

Patternless... i wish more will be done with This Mutation... Like including pastel Mojo albino or Piec or Ghost as Double recesive...

Hypo is what I'm acquiring now so that's what I picked, HOWEVER, I do really love clowns, pieds, and axanthics. Albinos are probably my least favorite [usually], but lavender albinos have more favor with me.

Sounds like a trip to WOBP is in order. I did the same thing when I was setting up the poll and checked out this morph (a VPI first), along with a few recessives I wasn't familiar with.

Hmm not sure how I feel about it. I might like an axanthic patternless, but it doesn't wow me.

Hypo is mine, but only in combos. My favorite recessive on its own would have to be pied!

I'm at the very beginning of my clown project with my Pastel 100% het clown. One of these days I need to sit down and find her a visual clown male.

I would really like to jump into the black axanthic project, but I'm waiting for them to come down in price a little first.

    Clown...because they're just awesome...

Hypo is a close second for what it does to everything it's mixed with...

Im surprised clown is beating pied right now, I though that was everyones favorite morph.

Clown is my favorite, Hypo I also love. I think thats why I have a 2.4 group of double het hypo/clowns lol.

I think the next recessive project I will get is ultramel, I want to make a candied clown first though. See how things go lol.

That's exactly what I'm thinking too. I wonder how different the results of this poll would be on a non-BP forum.

I love the pied and clown stuff (and want to get into them shortly) but I have to say hypo is my favorite: I've yet to see a hypo combo I didn't like.

I would go with tri-stripe or genetic stripe. Really like the albino tristripe.

I voted Clown, cause clowns are indeed awesome and they are my primary favorite(next to axanthic),but the recessive project I'm actively pursuing is the Ultramel pied.
It will certainly be a long term thing, but I saw a Carmel pied on the WOBP and could just feel that the Ultramel pied would be even more awesome and that I had to go for it :P

It was hard to pick but I picked pied as I am already started with pieds. Clowns would be next then albinos but I have projects started with them to.

That was my vote also...to me it's still the best highlighter gene out there, especially since it doesn't just make babies look amazing, adults stay looking awesome too.

The quad hets would be a blast to watch what hatches out, even better if you could do a quad visual to quad het.

I voted clown. Looks great on its own and in combos. Albino would be #2, especially in combination with pinstripe or spider. Pieds are nice on their own, although they tend to brown out from what I've seen.

Clown Killerbee. Do I have to say more? :P

I'm one of the few who's favorite is albino. Always has been, don't really know why. Other than that it's pretty much "one of everything from the left side of the menu please" , lol.

I'm pleasantly surprised to see all of the hypo love since I think that's where I'm headed next, but of course there's nothing better than axanthics! ;)

I did however see a pic today of a pastel lavender g stripe...:O Mind = blown.

Clowns and pieds are gorgeous but my true love is ghosts. They are so beautiful and produce such stunning combinations that age really well.

P.S. I also love albinos, axanthics and g-stripes plus lavender albinos. Somewhere along the line I will be using all of these in breeding projects.
