Feeding every 6 days . ok or not ?

My bp is 8 month old and 3 feet long . He seems happy and in good health . I handle him almost daily except for 2 days a week when he is digesting ... So I wish he could grow and take weight a bit faster and want to feed him every 6 days instead of 7 . Would that be ok ? Im thinking it can only be good since he is still growing but im very new to all this and want to make sure I wont so anything bad .

You could feed him every 3 or 4 days if you really wanted to. I fed every 3 or 4 days if I'm trying to fatten them up.

6 days. yes, that's ok :gj: I prefer 7.

no need to grow him quick unless ur getting weight up to breed .. one of males eats every 5 days cause hes only 360g and im trying to get him ready for this season the rest every 7 if hes on rats every 7 will be cool otherwise ur gonna get him big for no reason when he can just take his time getting there .. jmo

8 months and 3 feet? :hmm - weights would be easier to assess, but pics would help immensly. I don't see an issue with feeding at 6 days. I feed every 5 days for up to 800 grams. Which is usually about a year or so old. 3 feet seems very long for 8 month old ball python.

Come on...you know how guys are about estimating the length of their snakes. It's probably a foot and a half at best...:D

I'd put him at between 800-900 he's pretty big for his age but he's not overweight so 6 days should be fine.

Yeah I'd agree six is fine my juveniles get fed every five for about the first yr

His weight looks ok to me. It's not the best photo, but he doesn't seem to be showing any signs of being "too skinny"

If he's your only one on that routine, I'd just go to a 7-day schedule. One day isn't going to make that big of a difference, and it might be simpler to just have every Wednesday as feeding day (for example).

Thursday is feeding day here.... and Friday, Saturday, Sunday.... lol!!

I agree every 6 days is not a big deal. We generally stick to once a week for convenience! Hope this helps

If you have a healthy adult or sub adult, or even juvy and you're feeding 10-15% every 4 days you are very likely power feeding. There's no good reason to feed a healthy bodied 1000gram snake every 4 days In the end you will do more damage than good. Even my females that lay and come out of the breeding season 600-700 grams under their pre-season weight don't get fed every 4 days.
