Does anyone not brumate their ball pythons?

I know that breeding ball pythons is fairly simple but this year I didn't cool down my spider-normal pair. They started copulating in early November and she hadn't laid eggs until mid July. There might have been some other complications egg developments such as lower temperatures. How do some of you guys breed your pythons and what matters the most when it happens?

I used to, bit now I don't. I don't even have a hot spot.

If what you're asking is if people do a small temp drop in the winter to simulate seasons, I think it has been determined at this point that it's not necessary but some believe it is helpful despite lacking the ability to provide evidence.

Yes that is what I am asking, does a small temperature drop matter? And you answered that is doesn't to some people.

I don't cool.

My hotspot all year stays the same. However, my ambient changes with the natural seasonal change.

Some people cool. Some don't. Its personal preference. In the end, both methods have facilitated successful breedings.

I personally don't cool because I don't want to risk my snakes getting a respiratory infection.

No one does,including you! Some do however drop temps slightly.

Ball pythons do not brumate.

Now the term you are looking for is cooling.

Some people do some people don't.

I just had my first season and did not cool, I got 3 clutches. I don't ever plan to cool, it seems like an unnecessary hassle to me and a slight risk of my snakes developing a respiratory infection. My ambient temps change a bit through the seasons.

Ok sorry, my word is a little off, but I live in California, and with my native reptiles brumating every winter I have a tendency to mix such meanings up. I did mean cool down, but I was trying to find a better word for it. And yes I do understand where they come from weather doesn't vary as much as it does here.

I didn't alter my rack temps at all, but ambient temps in my house drop significantly in winter, even with my own radiators etc. Not sure this makes any difference, been pairing them since October and they still waited to lay until mid to late July to lay...

I used to cool my snakes, but it was pointed out to me that it's actually un-natural to do so for ball pythons. I haven't done it now for many years and it really doesn't make any difference.

I've always thought that this website was interesting. It's the yearly averages for all weather in Ghana Africa (which is where most of our snakes ancestors are from)
