Candy, Lavender Albino and Candino
I recently hatched a five egg Het Candy x Albino clutch and got real lucky and hatched 1.4 Candinos.

I also proved out a Pastel 50% Poss. Het. Candy female and hatched a pure Candy. This gave me the opportunity to do something I wanted to do since last year and raise a Candy, Lavender Albino and Candino side by side. All three are females and hatched within two weeks of each other. They've had their first sheds but haven't eaten any meals yet. I'll update this picture as they grow and color up. Fun stuff!

I think you need to go buy a powerball ticket, because this is just crazy awesome! Congrats, and looking forward to more pics as they grow up.

thats awesome and it would be great to see the side by side shots. thank you.
-
Very Cool Congrats....Can't wait to see them as they grow side by side.
-
Yes, this is awesome.
as hatchlings they look similar, but as they get older, candy and candino will start to darken (in a good way) and move further and further away from albino optics.
het candy to albino is also, i think, the hands-down best pairing you can do if you have a het candy. (apart from breeding het candy to candy).

In my opinion the Lav is the nicest right now we'll see as they grow.

I agree, but I think the candino adults might outshine the lavenders. shame the 'controversy' regarding its allellic tendencies with albinos overshadowed the morph to a certain extent.
Dave, as always I'm wildly impressed. you seem to have a knack for hitting it out of the park. I hope you do us all the favor of posting different stages of their development.
edit for random thought: have you bred a candy/candino to a lavender albino or have they all been 'standard' albinos? I think a lavender candino would be something to behold.

Thanks! I've never bred my het candy to lavender albino just my regular albino. Maybe down the road...

Very nice, congrats on all of them. I need to get into Lavender Albinos asap. :gj:

now im a bit confused....
i know albino, candy and toffee are compatible, so when you for example breed albino to candy you get candinos, instead of double hets.
But i think lavender albino is incompatible, is this correct?
so if you breed lavender albino to albino (or candy or candino), you should get normal-looking double hets, and then you need to breed double het to double het and beat the odds to get a visual double recessive.
or are they compatible after all?
(by the way, if anything, the compatibility is a bonus and should make candy and toffee more attractive for breeders).

Albino and Lav Albino are not compatible, so candy/toffee will not be either, so you are correct you would get double hets.
