Is this behavior strange to you? Someone tell me what's going on with this guy.
Bryan just started acting like this a couple of days ago. He acts uncomfortable, as if his upper body/neck is irritated and he just can't get situated right. It's a little subtle, but I've had this guy for 8 years, and I know him. This is not his normal self and I'm hoping there's nothing wrong, but take a look at this video and tell me if this is peculiar to you.

looks completely normal to me..? just wandering around inspecting his surrounding. this is how my girl acts, mostly at nights :) I wonder if its because they don't feel threatened enough to hide? or they are just more active at nights.

Could you be dealing with something like a pinched nerve? Those can happen pretty suddenly, and don't last forever (speaking from experience in non-reptilian animals; never seen it in a snake before).

OK well I hope everything is ok. Like I said I've had him 8 years so I do know it's out of the ordinary for him to be so twitchy. I guess I'll just stay alert with him and monitor. Maybe I'm just over-protective because this guy is my original and I'm particularly attached to him. Honestly I get pretty anxious at the mere thought of anything being wrong with this one.

Where in the video does he appear "so twitchy" to you? The video looks normal. I doesn't seem like he is being twitchy at all in the video. Doesn't seem like you have anything to worry about from the video. Except for maybe that hand creepily reaching for him at the half way mark:rolleye2:

OK hopefully it's fine. I'll take your word for it. Maybe he's just extra excited the last couple of days. He was resting normally in his hide this morning neatly coiled up and not hanging halfway out or in an awkward position so that's a step more toward his usual self. I might also mention he has refused the last two meals I've offered him. I'd like to see him calm down and take some rats as he's naturally a skinny guy to begin with. But maybe I'm just being paranoid. :) I would be fine with that news. I'll just give him some time to rest and see what he's like in a few days. I'm just saying I know how he normally moves and acts because I have a long history of interacting with him.

He acts stressed and uncomfortable. As if his head and neck are irritated.

Maybe the video doesn't do justice, but I really don't understand why everyone seems to be suggesting that I just got my first BP last week. I have had this snake for 8 years and I know his behavior. 8 years is a lot of data guys, and I'm telling you something is off with him. I don't know what more to say, but I think I've been on this forum long enough that I shouldn't come off as someone who would just panic every day.

No one is suggesting anything. Obviously you know your snake better than anyone else, but (in a vacuum) the video you posted doesn't look like there's anything going on with Bryan at all. I'm sure the reason you're getting defensive is because you're worried about your baby - that in itself speaks volumes about the care you give to your animals. Of course keep an eye on him and keep us posted, but from what we can tell from the video this all seems like normal BP behavior.

Yeah I don't mean to get angry. But yes I am very worried because this is my favorite snake in the collection. I just thought that if he is trying to get sick, and I pick it up early, I might have a better chance of helping him. I've had this one a long time, it's like worrying about a family member.

I'd suggest getting a vet or reptile specialist to check him out if you do believe he has an internal problem, otherwise, we cannot help you any further without seeing him in person. :)

If he still looks questionable Monday I will definitely be talking to the vet. Luckily there is an experienced reptile vet nearby.

Maybe you should read the responses again. Not one eludes to you just getting your snake. Don't get mad at us because we don't see a problem in the video.

I'm sorry that you think something may be wrong but your asking people who have never been around your snake. You asked for opinions and that's what you got. If you really think something is wrong your only option is to see a vet.

Getting bent out of shape may keep people from giving you their opinions in the future.

Eric Alan assessed the situation accurately earlier, and it has been acknowledged already.

Yes he and I had similarities in our post and some differences. Thanks for noticing. I see you picked up on the advise I gave you. I won't do it anymore.
