blocked up Falsy
My poor Falsy is blocked up right in the middle(looks swollen), and now has stopped eating, anything I can do before this weekend when I can take her in for a vet visit?
-
the vet was heading out of town so we rushed her in, an impaction is the verdict

What did they do with it?
-
said to give her laxatives/lubricants along with some meds

I'm sorry to hear this :( What meds/laxatives did the vet try?
I had a corn snake who the vet thought was backed up/impacted, and she ended up being egg bound from when she was paired over two years previous with the last owner. We gave Baytril shots, mineral oil inserted down into her belly to try to help her pass the "blockage" and he gave a warm water enema before we figured it was a different problem. Did your vet try any of these?

Indeed, here's my write up on it (she made it though, tough girl!): http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showt...ry-and-spaying
I'm sorry to hear about your loss OP, I recently lost my snow corn girl and I'm still upset over it.

I'll have to check on the meds when I get home from work tomorrow( started with an "m"), but he had me use watered down glycerin to try to get the blockage to move, as far as I can tell it did. So as of right now I don't know what trully killed her. Hopefully a necropsy will tell as to what happened.
I only had her since March if I remember correctly, she was the prize of my collection, so to have this happen has really taken me aback some. Not sure what to do now, my wife has given me the go, for getting another at the end of this month. To this point I have never lost a snake due to impaction, so i'll be rethinking as to what to keep the next one on assuming it was the aspen bedding that got into her system.
Anyway here I am at work, mourning my loss.

^ I'd for sure get a necro, there might have been more to this than her just eating some aspen/substrate.
For a necro put her in the fridge, not the freezer while you wait to drop her at the vet.

Sorry for your loss. My falsey has turned out to be a scaled puppy dog, I'd hate to lose him.
