    Praise the axanthic odds gods!!!
The little guy that was trying to pip was having a hard time getting out, apparently the eggs were starting to dry out and get a bit tough (despite constant 99-96% humidity), so we cut. Hit 3 axanthic pastels, one bumblebee het axanthic, and one axanthic bee!!! Will post more pics as they come out.

    Little goo covered axanthic bee

Two pastels (third is in the middle but you can't really see it)

    And the het ax bee

I'll let you know when I find out ;). I still have no idea how many (if any) I'm going to hold back since I have to move across the country (AZ to VA) in December.

    And he/she is out!
Looked in this morning and the little 'un was already out and cruising around. Totally un-shy when I picked him up, did not enjoy his rinse (I used a bottle of water from the incubator), and is now checking out his own damp paper towel box (which I put back in the incubator). 34 grams (was the runt egg), and no signs of a hard belly.

Blurry, but you can see he wasn't bothered at all.

I know exactly how you feel....did that when I hatched my first albino, and the only person around at that time was my 60yr old roommate from Ireland lol.

I would love to have him or her, will have to have a chat with my husband. <he told me no more> I'm not sure I qualify as top notch but I've learned a lot very fast and have 2 happy healthy normals.

Ha ha ha, my husband says the same thing! The way I see it, the people who come on this forum are trying to learn and provide the best homes they can for their animals. That says a lot to me about the kind of person you are. You didn't just accept what the petco guy (or whoever) told you was appropriate, you went out to do the research yourself. That tells me you truly care about doing the right thing by them.

Second axanthic pastel (left) out of the egg, at 61g is nearly twice the weight of his (or her) 34g sibling (right), yet also twice as shy!
