Day 51 Of Incubation And I Am Going Nuts!

The 7 egg Mojave x Lesser clutch is on day 51 and I want to cut so bad...:rolleye2: I see good movement when I candle, but I am still really worried that the temp spike that happened during the accident in the snake building has caused deformities. Temps in the incubator were 96f when I came in the snake building and I am not sure how long it was that high. My buddy who was watching the snake building while we were gone had checked on them before he left at about 5:00pm - 6:00pm. We got home about midnight, so the longest it could have been is about 7 hours, which is still a long time. But hopefully with all the water bottles and it being sealed in the incubator, it took it a while for the temps to get that high.

I want to cut so I can see if they are all ok (plus see what I got :P ) but I will use every ounce of patience I have to wait till the first one pips... Anyone else going as crazy as me?

I am looking forward to seeing the new babies when they hatch. It will be nice to see that not all was lost in the tragedy that happened. Cannot wait to see the babies. :)

I would wait a few more days atleast... Hope the spike didn't harm the eggs at all, fingers crossed for some BELs!

Yep, day 54 anytime now.

We are on day 33 so we still have a ways to go. I am curious to see what comes of your spike as we had a spike to 94 with about the same kind of window, 5 to 6 hours max. No idea how long it took to get there as the light was left on in the incubator (revamped wine cooler). So the temps obviously climbed over the time but just how long it was at 94, I don't know.

Remember that cutting them won't change whats in the egg, so just be patient and wait. That's what I will be doing. Best of luck to you.

I'm with you too wes I have one clutch on day 53 and another on day 52 twiddling my thumbs trying to be patient.

Day 17 for my first clutches...already going crazy haha :banana:

I have, but all I can ever see is just a faint silhouette of a snake. I've never really been able to see patterns in the egg... maybe I need a better flash light.

I can feel your anxiety...I'm sitting on day 56 myself right now on my next clutch due to hatch. I will probably cut them thursday night or friday morning before leaving for atlanta if they haven't pipped yet.

Cut both my clutches so far this year on day 52. Everything was fine at a steady 88.5F. They came out of the eggs on average at day 56- 58.

I plan on the same for the rest of the clutches.

I have a 5 egg Mojo x Butter Clutch due 8/12 and I am pretty sure I saw pattern in all of the eggs so I am kind of bummed out. I hatched plenty of albino clutches so I figure they would look the same when candled if I had BELs in the egg. Oh well few more weeks before I find out for sure.

I'm on day 47 so if I don't cut they will pip around 53 to 55 days and hatch by 60 days right?

if you candled around day 40 to 45, did any still glowed pink? those would be your bels

Really not sure. Didn't know to look for any glowing pink so can't remember if any did or not... I'll know to look for that next time.

Why did my last clutch not feel like this? I swear with my last clutch, it was like "hey, it's day 55 already"... I feel like a kid waiting for the bell to ring on the last day of school before summer. :crazy:

^ this. Today is day 51 for me now, I think I've looked in there 47 times today hoping something is happening (through the incubator window, not actually opening the door), still nothing. :rolleyes:

They look great. So it doesn't appear there were any issues from the spike to speak of. Is that correct? Like I said, I had a similar spike so just curious.

Yes, it doesn't seem to have affected them at all. They all seem fairly active and are tongue flicking
