New housing setup...HELP!
Hey everyone...here is my problem...
I just finished setting up ny new vision cage for my BP and I cant seem to get any of the settings right. My temp is too low and humidity is too high. My setup is as follows:
Vison cage 211
UTH on thermostat
1/3 inch substrate
Hide and water dish on seperate side of the tank
Thermometer with probe at the top back end of tank (so its not near the UTH)
Hydrometer with the probe at the other side of tank top end.
I have my thermostat set to 105 and the reading from my heat pad through the substrate is 78.9 everywhere else in the tank is at 72...humidity is at 82% which is way too high...I havent even misted it. The enclosure has been set up for 2 days. Will this stabilize? If not how do I lower the humidity? Are my probes in the wrong spot? Also the temp in my house is steady at 75 the tank is away from any air vents. Here are the pics of my setup.

Re: New housing setup...HELP!
Thanks for all the info! Sorry, the temp probe by the back was for the thermometer the one for the thermostat is directly attached to the heat pad, I will move the thermometer probe down to the bottom. What temp should I bake the substrate at, and for how long? Is the humidity probe in the right spot? Thanks again! Do you think i need a heat lamp to heat the air in the cage? Would that help with the humidity as well?

I use these to run wires.

I like them because I can still remove the wires without having to take it off and leaving residue everywhere. Now it does still have an adhesive but it is nothing like duct our foil tape. It also will not wrap around the snake. I Mount them high on the wall and even my big blood has not been able to knock it loose. It is a much better alternative than tape. They are also easy to cut to the size you need.
I removed the tape from the inside...i still have a small piece holding up the humidity probe, but will remove that in a few minutes, just trying to find a way to keep the wire from hanging loose.

where would the radiant heat panel install. inside the cage on the roof? Anyone have experience with these in vision cages, I talked to LLL Reptile today and they said the UTH should be fine by itself...?

I don't have those cages but do have some RHPs in some. They didn't work for me and I chose to heat the room instead of mess with them. I was trying to heat 4x2x15" cages and the cool side would not get warm enough.
I do use one for my GTP and it works great to provide his hotspot.
Thanks! I am going to drill tiny holes into the front pillars of the tank to slide the probes through with some rubber grommets, so I don't have to run the wires through the front of the glass. I am also going to make a bracket to mount the light to the top screen, once that is done I will hot glue the wires down. I propped up my heat lamp above the cage and it is slowly dropping the humidity...Peeked in the cage and noticed that he has started his first shed since I have had him. So I'm not going to bake the substrate yet. Hopefully the temp will stabilize over night. I will post updates.
