Bathing your snake??
I know you can do "soaks" for stuck sheds, but does anyone bathe their snake because of being stinky? Usually she's good about avoiding her poop, but the other morning I woke up to discover it looked like she went through it a few times and "painted" the side of the tank :( I took her out to clean the tank. My daughter didn't want to hold her, because she said she smelled too much. lol But we got the tank all cleaned up and put her back in. and obviously washed ourselves up very well. :)
Any suggestions in case it happens again?

Re: Bathing your snake??
I'll wash my balls with dawn dish soap after she has a clutch of eggs to get the egg smell off her. this aids in getting her back on feed faster.

Re: Bathing your snake??
You can wipe her down with non scented baby wipes. :)

Really? the wipes are ok on their skin? guess im paranoid about what they absorb through their skin.
but of course, this is our first snake and we've only had her a year and a half. So in other words, im a complete rookie
compared to most of you. :)
THanks for the replies!

Bathing your snake??
I don't think I have ever washed my balls.

Re: Bathing your snake??
I use unscented baby wipes to clean the tubs, but then I spray them with water and wipe them out to get rid of the soap. I've never wiped the snake directly with one.
Occasionally we do have to give a stinky snake a bath for the reason described by the OP, but it's always in plain water.

:puke:
I just soak mine in a small Rubbermaid if the skin doesn't peel off them all the way.

LOL!!
If I need to bathe Ella,I normally use a wash cloth with warm water.

hehehe. Sometimes if the sheds a little stuck a get a warm damp rag and roll Indie up in it and massage him like a little snake burrito. :) he's really good with that and doesn't seem to mind at all, but my other ball hates it and it stresses her out. So based on your balls temperament you can try that too. Plus it cleans him off and makes him nice and fresh.

I only have one ball. When this happens, I use water and a little Hibiclens, rinse, then let my ball slither through a towel.

When my pastave girl got here, she had a little "accident" on the way here, and you know that super strong urate smell.... ugh. For her, I got a warm wet rag and rubbed her down, seemed to take the smell off just fine.
