Which Calico Fire Should I Buy?
    Hello BP fam,

We decided that a fire calico male would be just the kind of power we need to kick our clutches up a notch. I am posting two pictures (pictures belong to the respective breeders) of two which are similar in price. I am only interested in the quality here, and your opinions on that. How big they are and how quickly they can breed does not concern me as much as the quality I'm putting into my own animals. But, the fact that "B" is a hatchling might mean that its colors will look misleadingly brighter than "A." So, what do you think?

I like B, cleaner pattern and it looks like it go a little bit of paradox going on.

Also you're going for a male so age really isn't to much of a issue.

I also say B i much prefer the pattern. It also looks like the lighting or something is throwing off the color in A??

They are photographed very differently and are different sizes, but I think B has the most potential.

I'm on the "B" bandwagon as well. It looks like he is going to be higher white with all that pink up his sides. You really can't go wrong with either, though. They both have wicked patterns, good color, and cool paradoxes.

They are both great looking examples,

If you want the pleasure of growing the male out yourself, choose B.
If you want to know for a fact that he will be ready to breed next season, choose A.

There is no wrong choice with those two snakes.

Thank you very much for all of the input. That's basically what I was thinking. I do think B has a wacky pattern that I love. I think he will throw some impressive calicoes in the future.

I am not as concerned with the size, because I have all of these single gene males that have names and represent lots of time and love invested, and I would love to give them a year to breed before I go superseding them with a powerhouse male.

Your opinions helped a lot with my decision, so thanks again!

I would without a doubt take A just look at that blushing down the sides and over the top it's insane .. don't know what people see on B but hey that's just my opinion, both look great though

I am going against the grain and picking 'A' hands down IMHO.

'B' is too busy on the dorsal spots and does not have the back blushing like 'A'- nice tail "ringer" though.

'A' has awesome markings, is not busy and has VERY nice back blushing, especially for one with some size.

Here is my 1.0 Sugar Fire checking in at 422g going into shed.

I like A's pattern the best, and the blushing is ridiculous, but that tail ringer on B is pretty cool too!

I would go with A. All of my snakes from him are top notch and great feeders. My pastel calico's look great.

A all the WAY!!!! If the same price, there's no comparison in my mind.

Funny to see such different opinions. They're both awesome. It's cool to see such variation in the same combo, too. No subtle differences, but both definitely the fire calico.
Bottom line, though, is that you should pick the one that you like. Others' opinions are ok to consider, because they might point out something you didn't notice. However, I'm guessing that one of them had your eye from the get go. I know "A" had mine.

I voted for A, because he is so enchi-looking, i totally like it. B is nice as well, but if i want dorsal highlighting i would go looking for mojave. Why would i want dorsal highlights on a calico fire? I like the banded optics on A.

Of course the biggest deciding factor is what you want to do with it and which combos you want to hit down the road. I am biased, as everyone is, i like enchi, and A will do well with enchi.
