2013 BP.net Fantasy Football League

Hey all,

The 2013 league has been activated! I sent out invites to those that messaged me their emails. We have 12 teams and can accept more people. Please make sure that you're active and plan to play your team all season. There is nothing worse than someone that commits and then fails to field a team. You don't need to be a pro but you do need to participate every week. We have a live draft and you will do best if you show up and participate. We do the draft the Sunday before regular season kicks off so that roster changes are mostly finalized.

We're sitting at 14 teams so far! We can gladly host more people. We just ask that you play every week. It is no fun when people quit playing their teams. You don't have to be pro, just show up and field a team every week :)

We play for fun and bragging rights. ESPN Standard league with live draft. Nothing fancy.

Did I? Haha I had my iPhone then it forsome reason liked my yahoo address so it always default filled it in, now my new phones default is my hotmail one. Same name different mail, I have a Gmail same name... not sure why guess im weird lol

I'm interested but have never done a fantasy league. I love football but I wouldn't know how to build a team.

It's pretty straight forward. You're trying to get players that will get your the most yards/scores/interceptions etc. You pick the best people for the position and then analyze the matchup and make your decision based on who is going to get your the most points. For Defense you just pick a teams defense. The biggest deal is that you have to check your team multiple times a week. You have the opportunity to pickup players/drop players. You have to remember that they also play on Thursdays too and always field a full team. There is nothing worse than someone that commits to play and then doesn't field a team every week. We also do a live draft where we sit and pick players LIVE through an ESPN application. If you don't show up for that you usually are at a little bit of a disadvantage. It isn't that tough but again, you just need to show up.

I just want to post a reminder for everyone that has joined that the most important thing is that you field a team for every game! There is nothing worse than someone that commits to play and the doesn't field a team. This ruins it for everyone else. We don't take this super seriously but you need to be able to field a team every week. Keep in mind there are Thursday games as well. Last year the league went great and there was maybe only a single instances of a team not being fielded. Emergencies happen but if you are going to commit, please please please, field a team for everygame.

I'll donate a 2013 pastel. 90% sure it's female but I need to confirm. first year sexing hatchlings and all.

would anyone be interested in playing for her? I realize pastels are considered a close second behind wild type these days. I'd put up for SYR shipping. I'll leave it up to Brian for the final word. there is something to be said for a non-monetary gentleman's wager and bragging rights.

We just do a single league. We have 17 people so far. We can do up to 20. It is going to be a deep league but that is pretty fun.

Looking for at least one more person. That would give us an 18 team league. The league needs to have even number. We can go as high as 20.

We just ask that you have enough time to field a team each and every week. With under an hour of time per week you can accomplish this :) Just need commitment.

I'm not saying they're going to go back but don't be so sure about the defense collapsing on itself. They still have some talented players, then the addition of Dumervil. I'm from Louisiana so I love Ed Reed as a player, but he was getting quite old. Ray Lewis is gone, yes, but they still have other people. Courtney Upshaw will do awesome this year. Kruger and the other guy they lost, weren't really making any difference, especially when the veterans were in.

Yea, in the past we've had it towards the end where only maybe 4 out of the original 10 were still actively playing. It just isn't as fun when that happens.

Last year was great. We had 12 teams and everyone played through the playoffs. There were only a game or two where someone missed a player and it was usually a Thursday game with an injury. We still need one more. Do you want to play Neal?

20 people games are barley gonna break a 100 .. its gonna be interesting but im sure i will win the whole thing ,, cause im that GOOD!!!

simpleman u are the league commish right? is it possible we can move the draft to the friday b4 at 9pm cause i got work on sundays at that time .. if u can ask around and see if everyone would be available to switch that would be cool if not ill try to figure something out

I can send a league email out. I also posted a message on the league page. We'll see if any other time works for anyone else. Sunday evenings is usually the best for almost everyone though. We'll see what we can do :)

I replied to the note. If we can't get another member from the forum, I know a couple people who would be willing to join. Though they'd probably auto drafting but are active in FFB.

It's too bad Doolittle doesn't like sports. Kicking her butt in fantasy football would be a total power trip. :rofl: ;)

I've never done this before but it's something I thought of getting into. Does it matter if I have no knowledge of team and player stats and just do it for fun, but am still fully committed?

That's fine as long as you are committed and field a team every week. Shoot simpleman a pm with your name and email addy. :)

Just look up some guides, it's not hard to find some "you should pick these guys" and get an espn app that follows the guys you have.

As long as you field a team you're money :) It isn't that tough. The ESPN Fantasy homepage will provide you with all the predictions and stats. You can either join the live draft or let it autopick your team. Usually you will do better drafting your own players but autodraft isn't too bad. The ESPN pages give you forecasts and tell you what players are or aren't available every week. It isn't as daunting as it sounds. Let me know if you want to join. We play for fun and some bragging rights :D
