I don't know that I am a specialist but I have looked at a ton of YB's. We have two that we've grown up from hatchling size, and we hatched a clutch last year which came out 3 YB and 3 Norms. I still say YB.

Awesome on your first clutch! If you can please shoot me a picture at dusk or dawn outside with no flash of the belly and of the top. Does the tongue have less pigment that it's sibling?

It could be, but I'm not sold.
No speckling on the belly at all. I've not produced nor seen a yellowbelly that didn't have at least some speckling on the belly or down the sides.

Pictures in brighter light would help a lot, those pics are sooo dark.

The lack of speckling throws me off too, but it does have the flames and head spot. I'm not seeing granite; brighter pics would be helpful.

I'm going to have to say no to the YB.

Here is a pastel YB that came from an Ivory so no mistaking it..The amount of checkering is wrong for me and the distance the side pattern comes down the belly is off as well. Just my two cents.

Thanks for the great pictures, well done :gj:

That's a tricky snake for sure. There is so much variability in YBs that they are tough to tell. Even to the trained eye, like yourself and I.

I am not 100% sure on that one but if you have the resources to keep it and breed it I think it's worth it.

The belly looks iffy, but the flames on the side and the head spot make me want to say yes. Personally if it were me, I'd take a chance on it. It's subtle but I think it is one.

A testament to ball python breeding, I make reference to breeding projects almost daily that will not happen for 2 or 3 years down the road! Patience is key.

    Congrats on the clutch! :D

If you could put her with an Ivory, then if they produced another, you would know for sure.

Looks like a granite YB. Doesn't have the greatest belly. So what. The flames, head and slight belly speckling leads me to believe it is a yb granite.
