Female Names/Xeno gone :(

Well I had to take Xeno back to the scales and tails, to get him checked out for his problems. Andy the dude who handles ALL the ball's there took him back in exchange, and he Confirmed his ribs were broken and the other things I was scared about was just his cord of being a baby, and he was shocked and apolgized several times about being sold to me, as he never knew about him being like this condition. Which honestly my mom in law tried to fight for me to get a pastel, although Andy is taking him into his care and no longer will be sold. He will be trying his best to nurse back to health which I wish him the best.

He said I could exchange for a larger snake, which I picked the only female they had, she has a mixture of gold/normal/ghost like to her, which I am stuck on a name for her Girl names are the hardest for my, My little brother inlaw suggest Ari.



Please Note I DID get the snake like he was, which I noticed it when he came home as my birthday present surprise, We though possible food/possibly other things but how I started to notice his slither was a little odd and not normal. I took him to the best place that can get him the best care.

Poor little guy. :( Glad you got a good deal in the end, though. I hope he'll be okay.

So do I Hope to god he will, and I hope I gave him a great week encase he does not make it, kinda thing I hope I just gave him enough love and warmth to be happy.

She's absolutely gorgeous, Zombie! You wouldn't happen to have a weight on her, would you? That color is fabulous for a partially-grown normal.

No I am thinking about grabbing a scale in the next few months and seeing her weight cause when I do decide to breed her its 1200 right? or more does she need to be? I get confused with males weight and females

Males: 500g

Females: 1400 at the very LEAST, and more is always better. :D

Ball pythons do not need large tanks. It stresses them out, especially when they're small.

Also, throw out that hide. Ball pythons need a hide with only ONE opening. Those log hides won't make her feel secure.

And also, those thermometers are junk.

She is in a tank which is good enough for her, as for the log thats an old log from my mom inlaws snake, she has a bit larger one to the left and atm I aint bugging her I just got her today aside from feeding her a prekilled rat thats it.


Also she has a Baithing side/Warm side and cooling area and she is longer than the tank is so no need to worry.

Did you even disinfect it before throwing it in with her...

I'm not sorry. We've told her multiple times in her other thread on how to properly care for and set up a proper tank.

She continues to ignore advice, and when given more, ignores it as well.

Mhm, and how did he confirm the broken ribs? Did he do an X-ray? Take it to the vet, or are you just taking his word for it.

Sorry that I actually care about snakes and want them in the best care possible.

And how do you think you know me for not caring for animals... I Get them to kill the rats... like seriously... and Yes If you could see a line like this ----- in your snake by his side and when he relaxes they bluge, I am PRETTY SURE with him taking him into his care owning a store he wont neglect it... Like think everyone is an idiot when it comes to reptiles you really need to stop being ignorant to others. As he mentioned with Xeno being sick he was not at the store when the shipment came in, he does not know how he got on the sale line. If you ever go to the scales and tails out where I live you will see their CARE in there animals, or ya know I could have taken him to Jurassic park store which Know nothing about them -.-

Bobba isn't getting on your case because she's out to get you, she just wants to make sure than your new little girl is going to be okay, and is getting the care she needs. Well I feel Bobba is the opposite might be just me cause being online you can not tell the care or anything in people's voice, but I can assure if my snake ever got sick that I know she can get care for she will be taken to the vets, I had an EMERGENCY surgery for my boston when she was in heat, I love all animals and snakes and dogs are the ones who wont literally kill me, as for Xeno I don't think he will live honest to god even in the best care he is in now, as he was not drinking or eating or anything like this even in the other cage I had him in, not the large one.

Even Andy the dude who takes care of all balls there said so too, as He will be taking care of him if he can get him back to health he will NOT BE FOR SALE he will be andys to live out his life, he even said it looked like someone took Xeno and litteraly snapped his ribs.

I back up the fact that she needs a better hide with only one hole. Especially with a tank that spacious. Maybe even a fake plant to cover things up.
However, I don't blame you for taking the snakey back; it is better to make sure that he/she is with someone who knows what they are doing.

Ya know thats not a bad idea the plants I do however have a hide with two openings not the log but I think honestly she is WAY to big for it, like the hole is pretty small opening I been thinking about those Vines, as at the moment I didn't have much time to pick up anything I was going through Anxiety finding out someone literally hurt xeno, Once I go to get her more Substrate I will be buying more decor for her, do you guys think a Wallpaper would bug her? like ya know you do with fish?

Could you show me a good hiding for her size? that is one opening I might have to buy from a petstore

Well, keep in mind ball pythons like tight little spaces. so a hide being too big isn't a good thing. You want something she can be snug in. A plastic cereal bowl with a hole cut in it, or even a cereal box, closed and with a hole cut in it are two temporary options. And a wall paper would be great! It'll help her feel more secure. Get enough for the back of the tank, and the two sides, and choose a darker one. :)

Okie dokie, atm she is snuggled in her water bowl lol which I am switching out her water bowl for a bigger one which she can be chilling in when she gets to hot, cause it does get hot enough out here to the point I can have her light turned off with her still being warm in her tank, Ummm I could probably construct something for her in the mean time before we go buy more things for her, I wanna make sure whatever I make her I can melt the edges or something so its not so rough even though she has scales I think fear she may hurt herself.

How are you heating the warm side and what's the temperature?

Edit: I saw you have a light. Do you have a UTH?

Yeah I just got a fake plant for my ball even though she has two hides and a driftwood. I havent put it in yet though because I am letting her digest her food before I stress her out since she just moved in last weekend! They love feeling closed in so the more stuff in there the merrier. A wallpaper would be better than glass because she doesn't care about seeing out, lol she just wants to be able to hide in a small space (the darker the better). That is why we are saying to use a different hide than the one shown. However that one would still work well if you add the wallpaper, and then move it against the glass so that it only opens on one side. Trust me, she will appreciate a nice little hide to ball up in :)

I am heating with the lamp it came with the Zilla setup snake tank has both night and day lights

Yup Yup I got one of those but at the moment I would feel its a VERY bad idea since our summers reach in the 100's and the tank can stay in the 80's with her light off (if its high) and light on goes in the 80's 90's I can let it reach higher but with her in the water dish at the moment I think shes a little warm lol (soon will be putting on the night light)

Plus, before you plug the UTH in, you're gonna get a thermostat, right? :)

Reason I ask is that UTH's absolutely need a thermostat to control the heat as these can easily burn your snake (even through substrate). I didn't know about regulating UTHs when I first got into snakes and I was lucky nothing ill came of it. If it's off right now I'd look into picking up a thermostat for when cooler weather hits (or at least a lamp dimmer in the meantime) so you're prepared.

XD Sorry I am pretty fast to typing in School like Grade 4 we were taught how to type with out looking at the keyboard, and yea the control on I am looking at is one Anya suggested controls the temperature of the UTH so I wont have to constantly check it.

Good. ^_^ Tell me, is your house staying in the low/mid-80's during the day? Because if it is, I would turn your lamp off during the day. It might be getting too warm in there for her. Low/Mid 80's are fine temperatures for bp's, though, without any supplemental heat. If it drops into the 70's at night, I would turn that lamp back on then.

Um yes, we live in a Desert technically and when I brought her home it was rather warm in the house, I put on her light due to her being able to feed to find it I know they smell but I think light would help better since they see in heat sources, Umm Tomorrow her light will be on its to be like 92 with rain, Depends on how cold it becomes after the rain I may put her light on and close her area to keep in the heat, I will however keep an eye on her, My working station (Seamstress) is rate beside her.


I also have the UTH heater monitor you gave me in my amazon account to purchase for later X3

Now I say Lets Think of a name Anya Day Breaker you guys got an ideas?
