iPhone 4 is about to be killed......
I'm literally about to murder my iPhone 4. The "lock" button and my "menu" button have to be pressed 20+ times (the longest has been 87 times) before it will do one. simple. command. Anyone else experience this problem?

I wanted to spend the $200 to upgrade to the iPhone 5 on a snake instead...but it looks like that money will go towards a new phone this weekend.

Just got the i5 still a pos hipster phone. Go buy a galaxy s4 1080p resolution, more free apps. Man do I regret not getting it. I use to work for apple so I'm big into iTunes only reason why I have stayed with these phones.

Mine only glitch out occasionally, and it usually fixes itself after a triple-tap of the home button. I'm kinda impressed, mine has seen some better days. The entire back panel is shattered. The software all works great, mostly.

Have you tried turning it off and back on again? :3

My menu button stopped working on my four, and the antenna went out as well. The apple store couldn't do anything cause I was conveniently out of warranty.

That's when I made the switch to android.

The problem is that all I know is apple. All I have music related is iTunes. I just need a new phone period.

I just had a friend who's phone did the same thing. She took it to the apple store and they said that it was a factory issue and so it wouldn't need a warranty. They replaced the phone for free. I'll take that or I may upgrade. This phone is nearly 3 years old...it needs to be replaced anyway.

Do you have your itunes backed up? You can still get all your music on an android phone. And I personally like android WAY better.

Yeah, I'll be honest, my Nexus runs REALLY smoothly on Android Jellybean, and I like the customization options that Apple doesn't have with their products. As faithful as my iPhone's been, come upgrade-time I'll be moving to a Galaxy.

I've got a bonfire totally planned out ;) Sadly, there's a burn ban here I believe.

iTunes is getting backed up tomorrow. I've got an appointment for Sunday at the Apple store. I always back my stuff up before I go since I've lost things before.

I just have never had android. I went from a flip phone to the iPhone so that's all I've really known. I'm finding it very hard to leave my comfort zone and branch out to android.

Before the iPhone 5 came out, people would ask me if I had it. I have a Galaxy S2. My phone is two models behind and I still think it beats the pants off the iPhone 5.

Plus I'm pretty sure you can back up your iTunes music somehow. At the very least, burn them all onto CDs/DVDs and then transfer it to an android phone (if that's how you end up wanting to go).

I've NEVER been more impressed with a company than I have with Samsung. They hit a homerun with every new device. :)

dude in work gave me this advice: download winamp on your pc, delete itunes off pc, upload to new phone or us Ipod as device to play rockin' tunes. make sure your stuff is readable to winamp or some crap. He hates Apple and is a big on android/tech stuff.

I have the s3 and my wife has the s4, my mom and step dad both have s2. They all look similar, function the same basically, and are better than my iPhone by miles.

Want to change something? IPhone you're stuck with their crap. Android, don't like the keyboard? Get a different one. There are literally five different iterations for any one function that you want.

I say stay with iPhone. My SO has an iPhone 4 that never misbehaves. He told me to get an iPhone (a fact that he reminds me of daily) but I stuck with Android (Galaxy S2) and my phone has been a nightmare. I absolutely hate it, and as soon as I can upgrade I'm switching to an iPhone.

Amen to that! No offense but the i5 tops the iphone 4 by far! Super super fast. I love it.

My iphone 4 had issues with the home button sticking and not responding. Apple should replace it free of charge since it's their issue.

Get an S3. The S4 is really more like S3.5. Not a big enough difference to justify the expense.

My appointment with the apple store is at 11:10 CST tomorrow. I'm hoping that it will be replaced. That is the issue I'm having. However, I'm torn whether or not I want to just go ahead and upgrade my phone to an iPhone 5.

Another issue to my dilemma is if I use that $200 I would spend on a new phone to spend on a new hatchling rack (which I want). What I might do is if they replace the phone, go head and get my new rack then after I have a little extra saved from work, go back and buy me the iPhone 5. We'll see after I get through with my appointment tomorrow.

Re: iPhone 4 is about to be killed......
Okay...after the ordeal today...I'm considering switching to android. Here goes my rant (I'll try to be nice but I'm super pissed right now).

So I went to the apple store this morning a little before my appointment. There was no one there (Crazy for being a weekend day) and so I got to talk with someone about 15 min before my scheduled appointment. The guys there were really kind and told me that the only thing they could do to fix my home button is to basically dust it out. As for my lock button, it was sunk in and needed to be completely replaced. So, I went ahead and opted to get the iPhone 5 and just start fresh. In total, I paid about $500 - phone (32gb instead of the 16gb), 2 year extended warranty, car charger, screen protector, and Otterbox.

I get home and I'm trying to fiddle around with the phone to get used to it and I notice that the apps that should have been restored on this new phone aren't loading. Some of them loaded fine, but others are stuck like this:

(well...I tried to take a screenshot picture with the new phone and that doesn't even work)

Now to add to my frustration, my phone isn't connecting to my 4g LTE coverage (mostly just LTE coverage on my phone. Since I don't know which is what it should be on, that just adds to my frustration), and my pictures haven't transferred all the way along with my apps. It's like it's frozen.

Anyway. I tried to connect to my home wireless and it keeps telling me that it can't connect to the network. So, I try to restart the phone, sync the phone with my computer (which...it won't complete a sync...issue #ihavenoidea), etc. So I call up Apple support and talk to a nice young woman and her supervisor for about 45 min doing all sorts of things. She doesn't know how to fix the app or picture issue, so we focused our time on the wireless issue. I did a multitude of things and nothing worked. She called in her supervisor who was also out of ideas. So She scheduled me an appointment to go BACK to the Apple store tomorrow to see if a specialist can fix it. She thinks its a hardware issue with regards to the wireless issue. The others she doesn't even know where to start.

All in all, I'm one very pissed off customer. My broken 3yr old iPhone 4 works better than this brand new, out of the box iPhone 5. If they can't fix this issue and make me a happy customer, I'm going to demand a complete refund and go android.
