EGGS! From Piebald X Clown het Piebald. Fourteen pictures.

It finally happened 29 days after her pre-egg laying shed. She laid six beautiful eggs when I was gone all day on the 4th of July. Here are pictures of eggs and proud mama:

Mama is a Piebald and the sire is a Clown het Piebald.

LOL, I'm looking at the pics of Mom coiled up with her head buried in the middle of the clutch, and I'm thinking no way would I want to mess with her right now!

She is awfully protective, but she let me move her for pictures without striking, just a little hissing. Made sure she was all empty then put her right back on her eggs. I have an incubator ready, but as long as she's being a good mother, I'll let her do the incubating. Thanks for the luck & I'm looking forward to posting those hatchling pics. :)

good luck on the odds. my 2 favorite clown combos i've seen in the past year are the pinstripe clown and the spotnose clown.

but the leopard piebald clown was ridiculous. i'm sure they'll look almost identical.

Thanks! Yes, she does like to hide them away. She can arrange herself into a perfect pyramid shaped coil so that you can't see even part of an egg. When I first suspected she had eggs, I had to move her to find out. I think she's going to be a good little mother. No need for the incubator yet. :)
