~ German Dog Appreciation Thread! ~
This fits in this thread and shows I don't hate small dogs lol:
I was playing with my friends min pin/chihuahua mix yesterday, so he's half german lol. He's a funny little dog. He protects whomever's lap he's on. He was sitting on my lap and my friend pretended to hit me and he bit him. Then he also bit me when i tried to readjust him since he was sliding off my lap. I thought we were friends, guess not... :(

Beautiful dogs you all.
We have a German Jagd Terrier here but I need to get pics of her whenever it stops pouring out.

I've been trying to locate a store that has them, but no luck so far. I know they're online, but I wanted to get my dogs fitted with the correct size.

Yeah, it's hard to find him lying around in fall. I have it from a petstore here in Switzerland. Hope you find one, otherwise it should work quite well if you measure out with a normal one.

Kaiser "Bad Dog" Wembley
His full name is King Kaiser Koenig Wembley "Miracle" Underfoot of Berkely Way, the Rabbitsbane. When we brought him home, he had just cleared the woods of Parvovirus, one of three puppies to contract it in that kennel and the only one to survive. His nickname as the days wore on became "Miracle" because there was a long time there where we didn't think he was going to pull through, but amazingly he was always willing to give us a little tail wag despite his misery. His favorite thing to do during that time was to go lay in the grass out back under the tree. He still loves that tree. Anyway, by the time he was officially out of danger, all the cage-rest had resulted in some significant atrophy of his leg muscles, to the point where he walked flat on the hock of his back feet and on the carpal pad of his front feet. Basically it was like he was walking on his ankles and wrists instead of his paws. The vet wasn't sure if he would ever walk properly, so I took him home "temporarily". That was Mother's Day 2012. He's supposedly an ACA registered German Shepherd, but I suspect he either has some lab or some basset in him.
Here he is, helping clean snake cages the day we brought him home, he weight about 10lbs and was 3 months old:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...psa7f66694.jpg
Getting beat up by his big sister, although now he's the one who does the beating-up:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...psed4208ec.jpg
Swimming for the first time, which he hated then but has learned to love:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...psa049a8cc.jpg
Caught chewing on something he knew he wasn't supposed to. Fooey, that stuff is seriously disgusting but he was chewing on the bottle anyway:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...psdf841a01.jpg
Last, the most recent picture I have of him, looking dapper just after his first adult dog visit! 75lbs, 1.5 years old:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ps2cb8da99.jpg
We had a little trouble coming up with a name at first, because I didn't think Miracle was a good day-to-day name for a dog, but once we started we couldn't stop, so we just decided to make his name as outrageously long and ridiculous as possible! He earned the title Rabbitsbane in June of last year, when he had been with us for just over a month there were bunnies nesting in the back corner of the yard. He presented them to me as gifts, one at a time, 7 in total, dead on the dining room floor. This year, no bunnies are nesting in our yard. He also earned "Bad Dog" while he was teething and I would find paper towels, shoes, blankets, and half a dozen other things strung across the living room when I came home from work. The boyfriend was supposed to be watching him, but he wasn't paying attention! So I would walk in, see the mess, and immediately say "Kaiser, bad dog!"
I love my baby dog <3

Here is one of my crazy German dogs attacking the water coming out of the hose. Was hard to hold the hose and take her picture.

After the water battle was over, I got a better picture of her, a wet picture, but better

I added a very short clip of another of my dogs that hates the wheelbarrow , she had been dragging around the yard for a while before I ran into the house and grabbed my phone to video her.

Here's our first GSD Spike, he won't be our last. I got him as a 5 year old from a co-workers brother who didn't have time for him due to work. My wife was pissed when I brought him home, but he needed a family bad. The wife got over it pretty quick and loves him dearly now.

Here are my German-bloodline German Shepherd Dogs. Djenga was bred over in Germany and Briana's sire was bred there and is still over there. He is a VA-rated dog with the World Seiger show and is a SchH-3, IPO-3 border patrol dog. Both my girls have multiple obedience, agility, and German Seiger titles. They are the best dogs ever and I will always have a GSD in my home!

Thank you! For the most part, he was out of tapes by 7 months, although we did use breathe-rite strips on the tips for another 3-4 months or so. I love the chiseled look that cropping gives...even if he wasn't a show dog, the months of taping would've been worthwhile. :)

Really great photos!! Any chance you know the name/breeding of the first GSD, the Riesenschnauzer, and/or the second GSD (first GSD doing bitework)? Really like the grip on that dog in the photo. First GSD just looks a little familiar to me for some reason, but I wouldn't know why.
Saw my first Riesenschnauzer in action in September and was very impressed. I've always been interested in the breed and really would like to see more of them around! Adding some of my own pictures, hope no one minds! None of the dogs are mine (will post pictures of my own GSD later).

Thanks! Your pictures are pretty awesome too! Feel free to post any German breed anytime! It's an appreciation thread. :)
I actually don't remember who the first GSD is, but I *think* it's Fax von der Pflaz. The Schnauzer was a visiting dog so I don't know it's name, but I've heard it recently died. The second GSD is Jake von der Pflaz.

Thanks for the names and link, really appreciate it!! I really like the looks of the von der Pfalz dogs.
Very sad to hear about the Schnauzer, thanks for letting me know. Wondered briefly if it could have been the same dog that I saw last month but didn't think so anyway. They are really great dogs - I hope I have the opportunity to meet more of them off the field and see how they are as family pets/companions.
Here are some pictures of my own 4 1/2 year old GSD.
