Haha I love that last picture! And he must have been hungry, it looks like the snake went towards the mouse in the corner- my bp would wait in ambush when I used to feed completly live.

Thanks for the comments :D Yes, I have tried prekilled and frosties, but alas no success yet. So it will be live till I can convince them that dead is better for them than live. They do not even flick their tounges at the dead ones :(

Sometimes it just takes time. Nearly all of them will switch with patience. :)

Lots of times all it takes for a ball python to accept fresh killed prey items is just to dangle the mouse or rat with some tongs. If you just throw the dead mouse in, there is no movement to trigger a feeding response. Try that. Very cool pics. It look like that mouse knew what was coming.

I have tried dangling pre-killed mice and even live ones in front of Zeus, (moving the p/k ones around), and he would look at it flip his tongue a few times and then look at me like I was crazy. It seems as though his is only interested in eating if the prey is running away from him in fear. He may come up and check out the p/k or f/t mouse but that is about all I can get him to do.

mine does the same thing he just crawls right over it. i heard that chicken broth would work but i dont se how . i thought to myslef "snakes (ball pythons) dont eat chickens so how would chicken broth help ?"

Brandon -- snakes DO eat chickens, and ball pythons will eat chicks. You'll end up with extra-smelly p00 from what I understand, btw.
