    Who Likes Dr Who?
I was a big Dr Who fan growing up. I grew up on the Tom Baker version which aired on PBS. And now I have just recently gotten into the newest incarnation.

I've watched the occasional episode on BBCA when I had cable but it just wasn't a priority for me. But now it's on Netflix and I am watching it like crazy.

I just got started on S5 and so I don't have a proper opinion of Matt Smith but I liked David Tennant better than Chris Eccleston. I almost...almost shed a tear when he said "I don't want to go" right before he regenerated.

My only nagging questions at this point are:

    1. Did the Master survive his fight with Timothy Dalton?
    2. Who was the mysterious "Time Lord Lady" that kept helping Wilfred along and was recognized by the Doctor when they looked at each other?

I hope those do get explained at some point.

I understand Matt Smith is now leaving and that John Hurt might be the next Doctor?

    Can't wait to catch up.

Also, trying to get into Torchwood. Not used to so much profanity in a Dr Who based show. Dr Who has always been family friendly so it kind of caught me off guard.

I'll leave you with this awesomeness.

I've tried watching Dr Who, but I've never been able to fully get into it.

John Hurt is part of a one off plot for the 50th anniversary. It's kinda complicated and I don't want to spoil anything. The 12th doctor is still rumors only. I can still hope and dream for Benedict Cumberbatch though.

Davies won't tell us. He never does.

Torchwood is really good. I'm still upset that the last season pretty much ruined any chance for more. It was definitely a very adult series though.

    Ummm.....
Davies left the show 3 seasons ago when Moffat took over, so Moffat could change things anyway.

    Go Doctor Who!!!!!

I think the official thought is that The Master was sucked back into the Time Vortex with the rest of the Time Lord Counsel when the diamond was shattered. The master was supposed to be on Gallifrey when the Last Day arrived (and when the Time Lords were eliminated). The Doctor will be there too, as he is the one who kills the Time Lords and the Daleks.

hiw do you know that Hurt is only for the Special??

I tried to get into it, starting from season 1 on Netflix and going from there. I got to episode three and got extremely bored, and haven't been able to get into since.

I don't know the answers to your questions but, Mason, do you have a favorite Doctor Who episode?

Mine is called "Midnight", with David Tennant.

I know there's no more Davies. That's why I don't get Jack Harkness anymore. :(

John Hurt is the antagonist. He's the incarnation of the Doctor that didn't take the name Doctor.

He's likely a come back of this character: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valeyard

I was actually very fond of Eccleston's Doctor, but I really loved Tennant as well. Matt Smith just hasn't managed to endear himself to me yet, and I'm struggling to get all caught up (the things I do for friends lol). I think my opinion on the current state of things is similar to a lot of peoples'. I'm not as sad about Smith leaving as I am about Moffat staying >_>

I am looking forward to the special though, and the episode(s? I think there were 2) written by Neil Gaiman are incredible. I almost wish he'd come on as a more regular writer, but then I guess I'd get less fantastic novels to read xD

Doctor Who!! Yes, this is my thing.

Love all three of the newest, Matt Smith especially. Sad to see Tennant go, but it was time. Also love all of the 8 before them! Peter Davidson especially.

This past season hasn't been up to par, imo. I've enjoyed Clara, but after she jumped in, everything seemed to go downhill a bit. I don't think it's her fault, though. Moffat just has too many projects going at once, and when he's away, quality suffers. That said, the new opening is fab!! And I'm looking very much forward to the 50th anniversary special.

I heard a rumor that Hurt will be playing the actual 9th Doctor (his outfit looks like a mashup of Ecclestone and the eighth doctor's)

So far I really loved "The End of Time" 2-parter near the end of S4. But I also have a special place for the episodes where Tennant's Doctor became human and fell in love and had to make that horrible choice.

On a different note, I've watched some more. And I hate Rory. I really do. I know he's needed for the whole River Song thing to happen but they really didn't have to bring him along. He has no chemistry with either the Doctor nor his own fiance. I hope he gets better.
