Did you take a smoke break in the middle?? (Even if you didn't, tell me you did)

How many times did you ask yourself, "So, when does it go numb like everyone said?" For me, it was about 19 times. It never went numb. Liars.

Anyway- I like it!

Every time someone posts a new ink thread, I get this surge of wistfulness and spend the next 20 minutes looking longingly at my bank account, waiting for 200 bucks to show up so I can go feed my OTHER addiction.

It took so long the artist had to take a nap half way through to recharge... I smoked a pack and took a few shots while I waited.

Long tattoos go numb lol well they should, one of mine was like four hours straight (we could smoke in the shop so why take breaks) after a bit I didnt feel my leg an was getting bored ha

I literally almost choked on my cheerios reading that first part LOL.

As far as "goin numb" is concerned is really depends what part of your body your getting done... 2 hours on each rib, i WISH that would've went numb haha. Arms and legs are are alot more forgiving!

I am planning on becoming a tattoo artist myself once me and my friend complete our short term art certificate in drawing classes, I found a place willing to do an apprenticeship if I can come up with a good enough portfolio after that. I like simple tattoos like this, they don't break the bank, but have a very symbolic meaning.

trust me the feeling come back lol. I did a 10hr session on my leg before and it went numb around the 3 hr mark. the pain came back 10 fold when i hit 7 or 8 hr and this time it doesn't go away!

If they do big thick areas of color it kind of goes numb... kind of.

Either a smallmouth bass or a spotted gar... again just an outline. Perhaps by the end of the summer I'll get it :D

Mine was 2 and a half hours of work, and I didn't feel too much pain until he started in with the color. It's not much, but he was going in between the thin outline of detailed Celtic knot work, and that smarted a LOT. Can't wait to do it again, lol. It's the sweetest type of pain.

I didn't really mind how it felt... it felt like I imagine the mussels feel like when I dremel numbers into their shells at work :P
