    Hi,

I have bred rats and reciently killed them all for my bp. I have been trying to feed them f/t but she won't eat it. Is there something I should do?

    Thanks!

well I've never tried it but some people make the transition by first feeding stunned mice, than freshly killed, than frozen thawed. And if that dosn't work try rubbing the F/T mouse over a living one. Or do the same thing but rub it against a gerbil. Thats what I've heard works.

Thanks, but I ment she won't eat the rats, not f/t. She loves f/t mice.

Oh, well try rubbing the rat against a frozen thawed mouse. Or do the gerbil thing.

Yeah, I would say that your best bet at this point would be to try scenting the rat with mouse. Take one of your mice & get it nice-n-hot or even use a live on & rub the thawed rat all over it so that the rat smells like a mouse.

Man, I am so blessed to have Hissy! She is SUCH a great eater!!

If that dosn't work well...I don't really know. I guess I should make a backup plan so if none of that works with my bp. Maybe I'll mutate the mice to be the size of rats using radiation!

Or if you can get some used mouse bedding, you can toss your rat around in it briefly for scenting. Alternatively, you can buy a bottle of Mouse Maker to scent the rats with. Good luck!

Bernice just finished eating her first rat!!! I hope this is the first of many, many more. I'm also happy the "operation rat" was a success.

Thats great. Now your ball python will start growing my leaps and bounds. They always seem to geta good growth spurt when you switch to rats. Jojo grew from 25" to 32" in about 3 months and sheded every month.
